Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz split after 12 years: 'Maybe we are model divorcées'
Long-time couple Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Tom Schwartz have announced their split on their individual Instagram accounts on Wednesday, March 16. After 12 years together, the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ stars have decided to part ways.
“I never thought I would have to make an announcement like this. But I feel it's important that I'm open about my life with you," Maloney, 35, said. "After 12 years on an adventure through life together Tom and I are ending our marriage. This ending is not met with resentment or animosity, no sides to choose. We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain and we cherish our friendship.”

"Although we may be on different paths we will continue to love and support one another's happiness. Thank you for all the kind words and support," Maloney concluded the news adding two old photographs of the couple together.
Tom Schwartz also shared the announcement at about the same time in a wholesome carousel post that read: "Well this sucks. How am I supposed to capture 12 years of love in a f***in canned Instagram caption." He said, "I'm not quite ready to use the 'D' word bc it's too painful. Yes my heart aches but I'll be ok.”
"Fully respect Katie's decision and we've had healthy, productive conversations about it. It would be far sadder if she decided to stay with me whilst not happy," he wrote in part, adding, "We had some of the most blissful, romantic, fun times humanly possible over the course of our relationship". He said Maloney has "taught me so much about love & being a better partner."
"As sad as I am, still happy to say there's no anger or bitterness. Zero. Still so much love for you @musickillskate. And your family. I don't think we were a model couple. Maybe we are model divorcées. A dubious title I suppose. Also I'm aware of the tragedies taking place in the world right now, I have perspective here. I'll be fine. So I'll shut up now and say it one last time, love you Bub. Always & forever you'll be in my heart. On my ass? Maybe not so much." he concluded.
Schwartz’s post was accompanied by adorable photos of the happy couple together. In the final part of the carousel post, Schwartz posted a wholesome clip of Katie singing karaoke while reaching out for the drink that he was bringing to her.
The announcement was news to the fans of the long-running couple especially since every other post on their social media is a photo of each other. Current and past members of ‘Bravo’ also extended their love and support on both posts.
