'Vanderpump Rules': Lisa warns James to stay off alcohol while she's gone, but will he keep his promise?
James Kennedy's drinking problem has been a strong storyline on 'Vanderpump Rules,' something that also binds Lisa Vanderpump and girlfriend Raquel Leviss.
Long ago, James had rage-texted Raquel, which impacted their relationship deeply. She threw him an ultimatum, told him they'd split if he did not mend his ways. Which was probably the turning point of his life.
In last week's episode, Lisa caught hold of those texts and was furious that James had done such a thing. She confronted him about his bad behavior. Even as James said it was him drunk texting her, Lisa wouldn't have it. "It doesn't matter. To use those words to that girl that has stood by your side. If you love somebody you don't treat them like that, James," she said.
Before James broke down, he showed Lisa his sobriety chip, which made Lisa very proud. He said it was a huge deal for him to say in front of others present at the Alcoholics Anonymous that he was an alcoholic.
"I don't mind being there if ever you feel the need to slip up or question the path you've decided to take. You can call me," Lisa told him.
Lisa doesn't want another child in her life but is really invested in James and wants to bring him on track. But that wouldn't be possible without James giving his 100% effort to the process of quitting alcohol.
Today, Lisa will be seen asking James if he can promise to keep away from alcohol. She even informed her that she would know if he went behind her back to consume alcohol. Will he be able to keep the promise? Only time will tell.
Lisa and Raquel have put their faith in James. But Lala Kent just has to stir the pot. At Tom Sandoval's extra-themed party, Lala Kent tried to stir the pot by sharing information with Raquel that put an end to their friendship, at least temporarily. Lala revealed that James hasn't been honest about his sobriety and added that he drank the week before.
