'Mayans MC' Season 1 Episode 4: Dita telling Felipe about her accident indicates a love long lost but not forgotten

For the first time, Dita has opened up about the fire and said she wanted to be consumed by the "amazing" blaze
UPDATED SEP 25, 2019

Spoilers ahead for episode 4 'Lahun Chan' of 'Mayans MC'

Two episodes into Season 2 of 'Mayans MC', it was clear as day that Felipe (Edward James Olmos) and Dita (Ada Maris) were cheating on their spouses. Dita was married to Jose Galindo, founder of the Galindo Cartel and Felipe was a cop married to Marisol.

Three episodes in and fans had started speculating that Miguel (Danny Pino) is born out of Dita and Felipe's affair.

In the fourth episode 'Lahun Chan, Dita reveals that she never did a DNA test of Miguel because she was never unsure of who his father is. She tells a shocked and worried Felipe that no one knows about this secret and that no one ever will. However, she doesn't know that later that night, Emily (Sarah Bolger) would go through her room to find the old photograph she carries - of her, Jose and Felipe (then Ignacio) together. Then, after her alarm indicates the end of the session she is supposed to be in, she hurries off.

There is also something else Dita reveals.

For the first time, Dita has opened up about the (offscreen) fire that consumed the Galindo's home.  When the house went ablaze, she was alone at home. She wished to be consumed in what she described as an "amazing" blaze because she believed she didn't have anything to live on for. She also ignored the evacuation order and stayed in a wine cellar until she was rescued by a young firefighter.

This is the first time that Dita has spoken about the fire. Her vulnerability only speaks of a love long lost but never forgotten.

Following the fire, Miguel and Emily have pushed her time and again to get help for her mental health, but she has largely ignored this. Other times or when at home, Dita puts up a stoic front rarely dabbling but always watching. Her cautious air drops around Felipe. Sure Dita seems persistent to begin this afresh, but Felipe seems to have moved on. The years have caught up on him and looking back, he perhaps regrets it altogether.

'Mayans MC' airs on Tuesdays at 10 pm on FX.
