BERLIN, GERMANY: In Prime Video's 'Maxton Hall — The World Between Us', relationship between James Beaufort (Damian Hardung) and Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten) starts to change with Episode 2.

It wasn't a pleasant start to their acquaintance as James tried to pay off Ruby who learned about his sister's affair with their professor. Ruby saw him as an egoistic and arrogant youngster whose identity revolves around his father's wealth.

However, as they spend more time around each other preparing for the gala, the plot takes an adorable twist.

In 'Maxton Hall — The World Between Us' Episode 2, James and Ruby get into a heated argument during the Oxford debate, diverting from the topic and making personal comments on each other.

During this moment, Ruby bashes James for not having any identity beside his father's name, fame and money. James is hurt with Ruby's harsh words and he abruptly leaves the class before mentioning that she doesn't know him well.

Later, Ruby regrets being rude and mean to James. She meets him and apologizes for her mistake. He not only forgives her but also indulges in a casual conversation for the first time.

The final scenes of the episode suggest that James is getting attracted to Ruby as he is seen drawing her portrait and smiling while texting her.

He also finally agrees to provide Ruby with the archives of the Victorian collection for the upcoming gala. He makes an impromptu visit to her residence, asking her to accompany him to London to check out the collection.

Mixed feelings rush in as Ruby is unable to process the sudden shift in James' behaviour, where he is not only being helpful but surprising her with this sudden trip.

In the upcoming episode, we expect their romance to blossom as they'll head to London and get some time to spend together.

Meanwhile, James is most likely to face pressure from his father who wants him to have a romantic relationship with his potential business partner's daughter.
