Matthew Perry and Molly Hurwitz 'were on a break' when he flirted with 19-year-old Kate Haralson
The TikToker who made headlines after she shared her private video chat on a dating app with Matthew Perry has insisted that she had nothing to do with his split from his fiancée Molly Hurwitz. "They were on a break," she said about the couple, quoting the famous line from 'Friends,' when he matched with her on Raya.
Kate Haralson, a 20-year-old personal assistant, posted a since-deleted clip of her flirty FaceTime conversation with the 'Friends' star, 51, last month. They had connected on the dating app in May 2020, back when Perry was 50 and she was 19. She was then ousted from Raya for the privacy breach.
She recently told celebrity gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi that she was now being blamed for Perry's breakup with Hurwitz, 29, but denied having anything to do with it after rumors emerged that the actor might have started dating Haralson.

"Everyone blames me lol," she texted the account's anonymous administrator. When she was asked if Perry was with Hurwitz when he matched with her on Raya, Haralson replied, "No! They were on a break," using the infamous excuse from 'Friends', which spurred a decade of debates among fans after the character of Ross cheated on his girlfriend Rachel when they decided to take a "break" from their relationship.

Matthew Perry and Molly Hurwitz split
Perry, confirmed the split in a statement to People on Tuesday, June 1, after proposing to the literary manager in November 2020, saying "Sometimes things just don't work out and this is one of them. I wish Molly the best." The couple started dating in 2018 and were first spotted in public in December 2019 at a restaurant in West Hollywood. The news of the couple's breakup came a few days after the actor got fans worried about his heath at the recent 'Friends' reunion.
Perry first shared Hurwitz's pictures on Instagram in December 2020. In the picture, Hurwitz is seen wearing his limited-edition apparel collection inspired by 'Friends' to support Covid-19 relief. "You don't have to pose this way while wearing the shirt, but please feel free," he captioned the first photo of the literary manager. In the second photo, Hurwitz is wearing a hat with the slogan, "What is this, a baseball cap?" All the lines are inspired by Perry's iconic character, Chandler Bing.
Matthew got engaged to Hurwitz in November 2020 after dating her for two years. At that time, Perry said, "I decided to get engaged. Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time." However, last week it was reported that Hurwitz put their wedding on hold after he allegedly "flirted with other women" while they were on a break.
It was reported that Kate Haralson exposed Perry for flirting with her after they matched on Raya when she was just 19 years old and he was 50. After his dating app scandal, a source revealed that Molly wanted to "take a breather".
Since the release of the first trailer for 'Friends: The Reunion', Perry's fans became concerned for his health and wellbeing when he was seen choking up and slurring his words. The reunion's director, Ben Winston, said there was nothing wrong with the actor whatsoever. "He was great," Winston said on The Hollywood Reporter’s podcast 'TV’s Top Five' recently (via E! News). "People can sometimes just be unkind. I wish they weren't. I loved working with him. He's a brilliantly funny man and I thought he had some great one-liners in the show. I felt just happy and lucky to be in his presence and directing him on something like this."
