'Friends' star Matthew Perry had it all or maybe not? Yes, those ten years gave him a career that most can be envious of, unlimited fame, and handsome pay. But, it also took a lot away as he struggled with a pill and alcohol addiction.
And much like his journey to sobriety, his dating life too has been underlined by extreme highs and lows. Before we explore his past relationships, let's try and get to know more about his fiancee Molly Hurwitz.
Perry, 51, and Hurwitz, 29, got engaged sometime last year. It was only in November 2020 that he confirmed his relationship status with the literary agent. "Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time," he told People. "Second year being my valentine, but his first as an Instagram influencer," Hurwitz wrote on her now-private Instagram account.
"She’s been his rock in recent months," an insider told In Touch Weekly in January 2020. However, a few months later they took a break only to get back stronger. But before he could find the one, he dated quite a few women. While working on 'Friends', he had said he was "not an unattractive man" but "just awful with women," which doesn't seem to be a stretch given he has been with so many of them.
Before Hurwitz, Perry dated Lizzy Caplan for six years. He and Julia Roberts briefly got together after her appearance on the show. She played Susie 'Underpants' Moss who returned to avenge the embarrassment Perry's Chandler Bing had caused her. While in his head he thought they were getting somewhere, Susie only wanted payback.
In 1996, he and 'Baywatch' star Yasmine Bleeth got together and two years later, he was spotted with 'Three to Tango' co-star Neve Campbell. He then moved on with Maeve Quinlan, which came to be one of his serious relationships. The same year, sparks flew between Perry and Lauren Graham and soon they took their 'The Odd Couple' romance off-screen.
Even though they shared a 14-year-long age difference, the star and fashion student Rachel Dunn found a way to stick to each other for two whole years. Perry also had a rumored fling with Heather Graham.
