UPDATED SEP 12, 2019

With the ‘MasterChef’ season 10 finale just around the corner, we take a look at the top 3 home-cooks who made it to the finals. With $250,000 and the MasterChef trophy, and an opportunity to be trained at the restaurants owned by the three judges- Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich, and Aarón Sánchez, the stakes are high. Here are the three home cooks who will be competing in the finals, and one of them will be taking home the coveted prize.

Dorian Hunter

Dorian Hunter (Michael Becker/ FOX)

Dorian Hunter, a 45-year-old creeler was seen as an underdog on the show. Throughout her time on the competition, she has been very vocal about the sacrifices and struggles she made to be on the show. She has aced several challenges and managed to perfectly cook the dishes using ingredients she had never used before. For instance, in the semifinals challenge, she cooked venison, meat she has never handled before, and the judges found it hard to believe that it was her first time cooking venison, as it was cooked to perfection. She has managed to become a fan-favorite with her consistently good performance and the tremendous learning curve and growth she has shown since entering the competition. We wouldn’t be surprised if she manages to win the competition.

Sarah Faherty

Sarah Faherty (Michael Becker/ FOX)

The 31-year-old, former army interrogator with a passion for cooking made it to the top 3, after constantly managing to put in her A- game in every challenge. Known for her last-minute plating, this Texas native knows how to stay calm during the storm in the MasterChef kitchen. Sarah is a strong contender for the title, as she is a quick learner and is great in the kitchen.

Nick DiGiovanni

Nick DiGiovanni (Michael Becker/ FOX)

Nick has been touted as the fan-favorite to win this season’s competition from the beginning. This 22-year-old college student’s passion for cooking is next to none. His consistently excellent performance and strong knowledge of ingredients have positioned him as a strong frontrunner for this season. His leadership skills have been appreciated time and again by the judges. We have no doubts that Nick will certainly give the other contestants a run for the money during the finals. If he does win the show, then he will be one of the youngest winners of the trophy.
