'Manifest' is returning to NBC with Season 2 and it seems to be packed with several shocks and surprises. At the end of Season 1, Jared reached for the pistol and Michaela dashed up the stairs to "stop him" only to enter the door just as a shot was fired.

Titled 'Fasten Your Seatbelts', the first episode is all set to leave viewers in a daze with new turning points.

Melissa Roxburgh who essays the character of Michaela Stone, an NYPD detective, said, "Season 1 finale left us with a lot of questions, one of them being, who got shot. The reception that we had from the audience was amazing. So going into Season 2, they'll have a lot more answers as to what happened to us and I think the ride is just much more of a rollercoaster this season."

The official summary of the episode reads: "As the Stone family reels in the aftermath of a devastating shooting, it's hit with its most foreboding calling yet, sending Ben on a mission to locate two Flight 828 passengers who have gone missing; Grace grapples with her pregnancy."

Trying to decode the synopsis, one viewer wrote on Reddit, "I'll start with the last phrase first by asking; Grace 'grapples' with her pregnancy? Really? What's to 'grapple' with. She was the one who allowed Danny to continue pleasuring himself unprotected after the plane arrived. I do not see any grounds for 'grappling'."

Moving on to the Stone family next, he added, "So the only one that could cause the family to reel is Michaela. So has... Michaela got shot? The family may be 'concerned' if Jared or Zeke got shot but 'reel?' I think not." His prediction that Michaela could have been shot might come true.

He also said, "So Ben is off again chasing windmills, leaving his pregnant wife and scheming daughter to connect with Danny while Calvin runs away from home again. Ben is truly a dumbass and Calvin needs a GPS chip installed. Well, here we go. S2E1 going down the same rabbit trails. More questions and no answers. I'll still watch and enjoy but at the same time keep shaking my head after the previews."

As the supernatural drama comes back with a new plot, there are two things left to be unraveled: Who was shot and what does death date signify for all the passengers?

The first episode of the NBC show airs on January 6 at 10 pm ET.
