'Manifest': Jeff Rake's show just slipped to a season low, and we can guess why
Although its premise remains a subject of interest, it is the execution of the show's plot that has probably caused its current lean patch
Following its return after the long break, 'Manifest' seems to have lost its ground as NBC's record-breaking show. While during its run in the first half of the season the show managed to draw in a whopping 5.7 million viewers, it has now dropped down by at least 5%. The Jeff Rake-created series initially set new records for the channel by adding +1.28 rating points in adults between 18-49.
Unfortunately, this Monday's episode was barely able to pull in 5.5 million viewers and a 0.9 demo rating, down 5 percent overall and two-tenths from its midseason return to mark the series' low. It might come as a shock that a show like 'Manifest' would lose its viewership in spite of its intriguing premise which follows a missing plane.
