For all those relishing in a bit of nostalgia during quarantine, Mandy Moore has given you a treat! On a Sunday night (April 5) Instagram live stream, Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith (frontman for folk-rock band Dawes) delivered a tear-jerking performance of 'Only Hope', the ballad from the 2002 teen romance film 'A Walk to Remember'. Goldsmith played the guitar while Moore sang pitch-perfect just like her original performance.

According to Moore, the last time she sang 'Only Hope' was in the Philippines not long after the 'A Walk to Remember' released nearly 20 years ago. 'Only Hope' was originally a track by the rock band Switchfoot, but it became popular when Moore's character of Jamie Sullivan sang a version of it in the climax of 'A Walk to Remember'. 'Only Hope' holds a special place in the hearts of many Moore fans, since it was her first big song featured in one of her movies.

Fans were quick to burst onto the live comment feed during the performance with early comments such as "Wowowowow" and "Only Hope omg omg omg (sic)" before a ton of emojis poured in expressing their adoration and excitement for the performance. One fan declared (in all caps), "This is history" while another says "Deceased in the best way possible RN (sic)". The performance had many fans in tears. "My wife is crying on the floor," says a fan.

Many shared their excitement on Twitter as well. "I love love loveee her performance when she sings that song. One of my two favorite parts of the entire movie (sic)" says a fan. The description "iconic" even came up a few times in various comments while several people said they cry every time they hear the song. "I am never emotionally prepared for this song", says a fan. Fans also shared their love for Moore saying, "I have loved Mandy for years. She is just amazing. This is beautiful" and "What a beautiful human with such amazing talent."

After the beautiful performance, the couple ended their at-home concert with a tribute to country legend John Prine who was recently hospitalized after showing coronavirus symptoms. According to his wife, as Billboard shared, Prine is "stable" as of March 30. Moore and Goldsmith sang a cover of Prine's hit 'In Spite of Ourselves' and wished him to "get well soon".

Moore had announced in November that she will be touring this 2020 in support of her new album 'Silver Landings'. The gig would mark Moore's first tour in more than a decade, but the coronavirus has halted the majority of live shows from artists around the world including Moore's. She did mention that when she sets out on the North American tour again that fans may get to hear more performances of 'Only Hope'. She said, "We're going to fold it into the tour in some regard, but we hadn't really quite figured out the right arrangement for it".
