Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals but before it began, singer-songwriter Madison Beer blew audiences away with her powerful performance of the National Anthem. The 'Unbreakable' singer from New York showed her ability to hit low and high notes with ease as she delivered a stunning vocal performance of The Star Spangled Banner.

The Dallas Stars and the Tampa Bay Lightning are competing for this year’s championship and due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the entire series is being played behind closed doors at Rogers Place in Edmonton and began on Saturday, September 19. The series will conclude no later than Wednesday, September 30, with a possible seventh game. Beer's performance is trending on Twitter with many who were surprised to see her singing the National Anthem before a noteworthy sporting event. Many fans on Twitter shared their love for Beer and her performance. "She absolutely killed it," said a fan, while another wrote, "She's a legend wow."

One fan said, "This is actually.. phenomenal. She did that. Whooo the talent jumped out."

Describing her vocals, some fans shared comments like, "gorgeous voice", and "omg the note of “wave” holy sh*t" and "Wow she can sing."

Even someone who isn't a fan shared their support for Beer, saying, "not a fan but her voice is beautiful!!"

For those needing to get acquainted with the singer, Madison Beer was born in Jericho, New York, to a Jewish family. The 21-year-old singer initially started her music career in early 2012 when she began posting videos on YouTube of her singing covers of popular songs. At the age of 13 when Justin Bieber tweeted a link to a cover she performed on YouTube, she started trending on Twitter and gained significant media coverage.

Beer was subsequently signed to Island Records, and she began recording and releasing singles over the next few years. Her debut extended play 'As She Pleases' arrived in February 2018. The following year, Beer signed with Epic Records and much to the excitement of fans, she announced plans to release her very first full-length, 'Life Support', sometime in 2020. Speaking of the upcoming album, Beer said, "With my album, I made a promise to myself that this is going to be my time to express honestly and truthfully how I’ve been feeling. I could finally tell my story the way I wanted to tell it and touch on things like medications that are harmful for young adults that I’ve been put on, and real shit I’ve never been able to talk about," according to Rolling Stone Australia.
