Machine Gun Kelly slammed after creepy video of him letching at underage Kendall Jenner resurfaces
Rapper Machine Gun Kelly has found himself in the midst of a rape controversy, after old comments from 2013 resurfaced on March 22, 2022. The comments were made in the context of Kelly's crush on Kendall Jenner, who was just 17-years-old at the time. The clip has now gone viral, as has widespread condemnation for Kelly's apparent defense for statutory rape, for which he could have been charged had he pursued a relationship with Jenner.
No stranger to controversy, Kelly has a troublesome past that includes felony charges as a 14-year-old, and a $2 million lawsuit. Kelly is now married to Megan Fox, with the couple's raunchy PDA often making headlines over the past year. It comes after the rapper has been linked to several women in the past, including Chantel Jeffries and Sommer Ray. However, it also appears he had a thing for Jenner, as he openly stated back in 2013.

The video in question comes as Kelly is currently in the midst of a racism controversy after another old clip resurfaced showing him making offensive comments about Black women in relation to sex. If those were bad though, this Jenner clip is possibly worse, given Kelly's gross attempt to defend his crush on the reality star.
'There's no limits right there'
The full context of the clip is unclear since it only focuses on Kelly's reply. An unidentified host is heard asking "Who was your first celebrity crush?" In response, Kelly says, "I don't care who my first was, because right now it's Kendall Jenner. I've said that so many mother f-----g times, snagging that." To indicate just how desperate he was, Kelly adds, "Don't let me move to Los Angeles, oof, I'm finding her."
Given that Jenner was 17 at the time, the interviewer then asks, "Are you counting down until she's 18?" Kelly shockingly responds with, "I'm not waiting until she's 18, I'll go now. I'm 23 dog. I'm not a creepy age. I'm 23, she's 17, and like a celebrity. There's no limits right there." Kelly then goes on to defend his comment, by saying celebrities like Robert Plant and Axel Rose dated underage girls. "He wrote a song on his first album about the girl who was 16. Say what you want, if Kendall Jenner is in your bedroom naked and you're 50 - you're going," he adds.
If Kelly had indeed dated Jenner, he would be on the hook for statutory rape in California, as Canadian singer Alice Glass noted. Glass was one of the many to share the video, tweeting, "in this clip mgk blurts out a justification for statutory rape that amounts to “its ok because other famous men do it”. seems like he’s spent a lot of time thinking about this. quickly rattling off a list of examples that encourage predatory behavior towards underage girls."

'We need to do better'
In response, the internet furiously gave Kelly a good bashing. "Who’d have thought a guy who calls himself Machine-gun Kelly would turn out to be a douche," one person tweeted. Another slammed, "ABSOLUTELY NOT. @machinegunkelly is out here unapologetically normalizing statutory rape. Nope never should we jus look the other way. This is not okay on ANYYYY LEVEL." A third slammed, "It's pretty disgusting to see this as a teacher. We need to do better in explaining right and wrong if parents aren't going to be doing it."

"Remember when Eminem absolutely clowned this guy? Good times," replied one person. Another slammed, "A predator mentality with an acoustic guitar in the background does not become socially acceptable because of other predators having made songs about such relationships." One person replied, "I already didn’t like mgk but this just made me hate him more."
