‘Love Is Like A Cat’: Thai star Mew Suppasit returns to BL drama with K-pop group Just B

Just B's JM and Geonu become the next K-pop idols to star in a BL (boy love) K-drama following B1A4's Gongchan, B.A.P's Youngjae, Omega X, and more

Just a few days ago, Knetizens and the internet were surprised at Korean BL (boy love) dramas going mainstream with ‘Unintentional Love Story’ roping in a major second-gen K-pop idol, Gongchan of B1A4. And now, we have Thai idol actor Mew Suppasit getting cast in a joint Thai-Korean BL that also has two members of K-pop boy group Just B. They will be starring in the upcoming drama ‘Love Is Like A Cat’ with Mew heading to South Korea on July 2 for the project before filming his much-awaited Thai rom-com with actress Pearwah.

Mew Suppasit started acting with Thai BLs and was one of the leads of the hit show ‘TharnType’ that went on to make BLs mainstream. He then branched out by starring in other genres of dramas and established his singing career in 2020. He happens to be the first Thai idol to chart on Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart with five of his songs ranking in the top 10. Previously, he collaborated with Sam Kim known for his K-drama OSTs on the single ‘Before 4:30’ that topped worldwide from iTunes to Billboard. Mew now returns to BLs with ‘Love Is Like A Cat’.

Mew to star in ‘Love Is Like A Cat’ with Just B members

‘Love Is Like A Cat’ is Mew’s first BL drama in two years and also stars Just B’s Geonu and JM. It is said to be a drama for animal lovers as it follows Pino, a popular rookie who has past trauma with animals and has a cold and sober exterior working at a pet daycare along with Daebyul, Ki-min, and Jun-hyeok, who is the head of a vet hospital. Through a series of conflicts, the four end up creating a friendship. While their roles have not been revealed, Mew will be playing one of the protagonists.

This is not the first time that we have gotten a collaboration between the two entertainment industries. Last year, in August 2021, we got ‘Peach of Time’, a Thai-Korean BL starring Jimmy Karn of ‘Why R U’ fame and Choi Jae-hyun who is known for his role in ‘Run On’. The drama’s production Silkwood will also be helming ‘Love Is Like A Cat’. It is slated to air in the first half of 2023 on BLM (Beautiful Lovestory & Metaverse) OTT platform according to the Korean outlet SportsW.

‘The range’

WHAT DO YOU F**KINY MEAN.” Mew’s fans were proud, “We gotta talk about Mew's range -A series on Ocean and aquatic life -Cameo in a lakorn with Pupe -Romantic Comedy series Love Me Again' with Pearwah -Korean BL 'Love is like a cat' THE RANGE OF THIS MAN.”

Another fan commented, “The two leading countries in the BL industry and Mew has worked/will be working with both Thailand & South Korea 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻so happy to see you go international!! actor Mew lets go!!.” A Just B fan added, “Omega X, now JUST B..... All my faves are stating to do BL lmao.” Another joked, “The kpopification of the BL industry, and the BLification of the kpop industry is upon us. but seriously i'm shakinh, both my just b and omega x biases are in BLs now.”
