'The Ringing World' is the title of Kim Jojo's art page which had gone viral for relatable and heartbreaking artwork. In the first season, the page had gained attention for one of its work is a prophecy after a group of individuals, who felt lonely in a world where being loved reflected in the number of hearts received on the Love Alarm app, ended up killing themselves.

Many also considered that the page could very well have been a kind of guide for the many who had died and that resulted in Jojo distancing herself from the page until, after four years, she posted new work. She was a victim, the sole survivor in an incident of family suicide and since then, she has been a child who had grown up feeling lonely and unloved. This was what was manifested in her art and it resonated with many others who had felt lonely with the app gaining popularity.

'Love Alarm' Season 2: Whose alarm did Jojo choose to ring as Sun-oh and Hye-young continue to fight over her?

Just as she was a sole survivor, there was another sole survivor of the mass suicide that took place and it is this man who ends up killing women after ringing random women's love alarms. This man knows that Jojo is the artist behind the page and approaches her, and the first time around, Jojo feels extremely weirded out and runs away. The second time around is when the cops identify this man as the murderer and capture him. This incident ends up making Jojo feel extremely guilty as if everything was her fault. As if all the heartbreak that Sun-oh and Hye-young had experienced was her fault.

So she decides to take a break before she speaks to Hye-young. She apologizes to Sun-oh for how she had fooled him, however, she doesn't express love and Sun-oh seems to have had enough time to understand that Jojo has made up her mind and it was time that he became resolute too. He ends up giving his all at a screen test that he had been hoping to ace. Hye-young, on the other hand, only receives a message from Jojo who asks him for some time.

Some time to deal with all the chaos in her mind that she needed to sort out. And every time Jojo needed to sort out something, she ran and this time too, she takes her break in Gimpo where she has signed up to run in a marathon. She comes to a realization that the reason sometimes, one needs to leave things behind not because they hated it, but because whatever they had been carrying — emotions, belongings, desires — wear too heavy. The moment she realizes this, Jojo has clarity over what needed to be done. She also ends up welcoming her childhood back into her life, as she has now found a way to deal with the weight of having been a sole survivor.

The show really did a brilliant job of portraying how sometimes the trauma that we carry within us is something that we do not realize has become heavy. That sometimes, you need to leave things behind to feel lighter and capable of welcoming the weight back into your life. As much as Jojo and Sun-oh was the ship that many fans wanted to sail, Jojo chose Hye-young just like in the webtoon. She was able to welcome him into her life without any conflict. Jojo tells Hye-young, "There is no way that scars can be erased, however, you make them insignificant, like that of a tree."

Beyond Jojo and Hye-young getting together, the finale also sees Hye-young and Sun-oh reunite as friends while Gul-mi ends up getting her wish. Duk-gu releases an article about how she was the muse behind the founding of Love Alarm app and that results in her popularity soaring.

'Love Alarm' season 2 premiered on Netflix on March 12 and all six episodes are available to stream.
