Shavel and Quaylon's story had gotten off to a rocky start with his mother expressing openly how she would like him to move to Houston to be closer to her. But Shavel didn't give up on the situation easily, she was able to convince him to stay in Kansas. The couple informed his mother about their decision but it didn't seem like she let it go completely. There are chances of her returning and taking Quaylon up on his call to not fulfill his mother's request.

In this week's episode of 'Love After Lockup', we see Quaylon and Shavel sharing intimate moments and finally being able to give their lives a start. She even took a step forward and introduced her daughter to him. It was all going well for the two until everyone sat for a chat, with Shavel's mother taking the lead with some very important questions.

"What are your plans for my daughter and my granddaughter?" the mother asked, to which Quaylon said: "I just want to take my time. I want to ease into it. I want to be strategic in everything I do." On the topic of marriage, he said he doesn't know what the future holds and therefore cannot answer such questions at the moment.

Meanwhile, fans think Shavel is rushing it and risking her daughter's life by making her meet with and be around a prisoner.

"Ladies like for real no joke too many children are dying because y’all are meeting people online on social media and bringing them around your kids get to know a person a year or more before you bring them around your kids or move them in. #LoveAfterLockUp," a fan commented.

Another wrote: "And the way these women bring these men to meet their kids fresh outta prison. Like girl, you didn’t even know him when he was free #loveafterlockup."

"Why does she think it is a good idea to have her child calling him 'daddy'? Shavel needs to pump the brakes and stop giggling! #loveafterlockup," a user tweeted.

"Shavel sure is taking risks. Not only is this man fresh outta prison; he was there 12 years and went in as a teenager. She wants him as a role model for her 5 year old daughter. Its terrifying. If this turns out well - a miracle is an understatement. #loveafterlockup," another pointed out.
