'Minding my fat Black business': Lizzo gracefully responds to Kanye West's comments about her body
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bop-star Lizzo addressed Kanye West's criticism about her body during her concert in Toronto on Friday, a day after the 'Heartless' rapper said she was being used indirectly to promote what he called a "genocide of the Black race," Daily Mail reported. The 34-year-old singer subtly reacted to West's comments, telling Scotiabank Arena concertgoers, "I feel like everybody in America got my m***********g name in [their] m***********g mouth for no m***********g reason."
In an interview with Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Thursday, Kanye West claimed that whenever Lizzo posts on social media about dieting, "bots" and "media" attack her to spread the notion that being overweight "is the new goal," reported Daily Mail.

During a break in her performance on Friday, Lizzo continued, "I'm minding my fat, Black, beautiful business." The audience cheered and applauded as Lizzo spoke up for herself without specifically mentioning Kanye.
Kanye used Lizzo to highlight a point about people allegedly deriding the idea of improving oneself through weight loss, which he referred to as "demonic" and the "genocide of the Black race."
During the interview, Kanye said to Carlson, "When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots ... they attack her for losing weight. Because the media wants to put a perception that being overweight is the new goal, when it's actually unhealthy. Let's get aside the fact whether it's fashion or vogue, which it's not, or if someone thinks it's attractive, to each his own. It's actually clinically unhealthy. And for people to promote that, it's demonic." When asked why he thought this was a trend, Kanye West responded, "It's a genocide of the Black race," as cited by XXL.
As soon as the news surfaced across various platforms, people on social media were flooded with debate about body positivity and a healthy body blasted the controversial rapper West on Twitter. One user tweeted, "Lizzos weight gets talked because she’s not hiding her self in a table cloth. Rick Ross is overweight and owns a Wingstop (flaunts it), not healthy, but he’s not judged. Obesity comes in many different sizes. Kanye, check your BMI." Another user wrote, "It’s just funny to me that everyone always want to use lizzo in these conversations but never Rick Ross, DJ Khalid, or any other overweight male celebrity." Some agreed with West's healthy body opinion and wrote, "I think he’s right, we’ve been misusing body positivity while you can and SHOULD love yourself in the body you’re in it’s not okay to be over weight or underweight"

One user wrote, "Nobody is attacking Lizzo, you guys just need to acknowledge that being overweight is clinically unhealthy and to deny/promote it is damn near evil." Others slammed West and tweeted, "Why is he acting like he wasn’t overweight not too long ago lmao" Another user penned, "He’s not right because no one is promoting an unhealthy lifestyle. They promote not hating yourself for being overweight." Lizzo's supporter tweeted, "Everybody just uses Lizzo as a punching bag online and I can’t imagine how challenging it is for her. She doesn’t even talk about people and everybody just thinks they have a right to speak about her body. "When did Lizzo say being fat was healthy though? She’s working out, she’s vegan, she is a performer which takes stamina. I have never heard her say being fat was healthy or that she thinks others should do it. She just doesn’t hate herself and people don’t like that," penned one user.

He’s not right because no one is promoting an unhealthy lifestyle. They promote not hating yourself for being overweight.
