'Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family and Good Times': Fans say technology is to be blamed for actors messing up lines

Right at the onset of the festive season, ABC decided to bless fans with a not so modern yet impeccable take of Norman Lear's iconic 70s sitcoms 'All in the Family' and 'Good Times'.

Airing tonight right after the Impeachment Vote readings is the 'Live in Front of a Studio Audience: 'All in the Family' and 'Good Times'' and while fans are more than glad to welcome back the Bunkers and the Evans with their time-appropriate struggles and take on politics and other social issues, they can't help but notice the several slip-ups that have been sprinkled all over special already. If you ask them, technology is the culprit!

It all happened during the live airing of the rebooted version of 'Good Times' that's featuring an all-new cast gracing the faces of the same old characters. There's Viola Davis as Florida Evans Andre Braugher as James Evans, Tiffany Haddish as Willona Woods, Jay Pharoah as JJ Evans, Asante Blackk as Michael Evans, Corinne Foxx as Thelma Evans, and Jharrel Jerome as Jimmy Pearson.

The episode titled 'The Politicians' sees an extremely woke and politically correct Jimmy struggle to win against his bigoted and conservative older rival. But fans focused more on the several messed-up dialogue deliveries, something that they feel wasn't a common thing back in the day when actors like Esther Rolle and John Amos played the same roles effortlessly.

Taking it to Twitter, a fan wrote: "Technology has f*cked up art in a way lol. I’m watching live in front of a studio audience good times/all in the family and everyone keeps f*cking up their lines when everything used to be filmed live not too long ago."

Another fan empathized with the user and shared: "Feel your pain... Don't know that I have laughed once... Sad enough that we can't come up with new material but no need to butcher the old.... Still tuning in though."

'Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family and Good Times' aired on Wednesday, December 18, at 8 pm ET/PT only on ABC.
