Blackpink's Lisa beats Taylor Swift's YouTube record of 24-hour views with ‘Lalisa’
After her first-ever release as a solo artist, Blackpink’s Lisa is here to make a name for herself as one of the most powerful soloists in the world. ‘Lalisa’ is one of the two tracks on the album of the same title. On September 9, Lisa was featured on the music video for the song, and the world was bracing itself for the way Lisa was ready to make heads turn. Before the release of the album, Lisa had already broken many pre-order records but with the release of the video, Lisa adds new feathers to her cap or as her video shows, another braid to her head.
With the release of the music video for ‘Lalisa’, Lisa becomes the fastest solo artist to achieve the most number of views on YouTube. This record was first held by Taylor Swift who recorded a whopping 65 million videos on her video for the song ‘ME!’ which was released in April of 2019. With 'Lalisa’ accumulating 73.6 million views within the first 24 hours of its release, Lisa defeats Taylor and takes the number one spot.

All this is certainly not it as ‘Lalisa’ keeps achieving groundbreaking numbers. The video hit 100 million views within two days of its release, making it the fastest music video by a soloist to reach the milestone. Not only that, but the video also maintained the number one position for four consecutive days.
'Lalisa' is a number 1 hit
On the first day of the song’s release, ‘Lalisa’ had already hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 60 different regions. The total number of regions has expanded to 71 since then. Be it International sales or local, Lisa’s ‘Lalisa’ seems to have gotten fans hooked as her debut album becomes the fastest album by a Female Soloist to reach 400,000 copies sold on Hanteo while also surpassing 1 million streams on MelOn. Lisa also now holds the record for the female soloist with the highest 1st-week sales on Hanteo.
While internationally, Lisa's ‘Lalisa’ and ‘Money’ land the second and the third spots on the Global Debut Songs chart respectively. Following suit after bandmate Rose, Lisa has now surpassed 10 million streams on Spotify for ‘Lalisa’ as it ties with ‘On The Ground’ by Rose becoming the fastest K-pop Debut song to reach this milestone.
