Move aside, Danny Ocean, there's a new crew in town — and they're coming back for more. IMDb TV is bringing back the 2008 heist series, 'Leverage,' with nearly all of its original main cast, in addition to the original series' director and executive producer, Dean Devlin. Stay tuned to this page for updates on the release date, trailer, cast, news, and everything else you need to know about the show's revival.

Release Date

There is currently no release date set for 'Leverage.'

Plot

Hitter, Hacker, Grifter, Thief — the four roles essential to any heist, all united by one leader. In the original series, four specialists in each field, along with a fifth, Nathan Ford (Timothy Hutton) were betrayed while pulling off a heist they were hired to do. After getting revenge on the man who betrayed them, the team united under their chosen leader, Ford, to pull off heists that benefitted people who could not help themselves. It's not clear if the new series will follow the same format of a charitable heist-of-the-week, but with the return of 4/5ths of the original cast, it seems likely.

Cast

Gina Bellman

Gina Bellman ('Bulletproof', 'Emerald City') will be reprising her role as Sophie Devereaux, the Grifter and love interest of Ford. She is one of the most skilled actresses in the world — but only when on a heist. A persuasive con woman with an impressive knowledge of any social encounter the team may need to grease the wheels of an operation, Devereaux co-led the team with Ford.

Christian Kane

Christian Kane ('The Librarians', 'Almost Paradise') returns as Eliot Spencer, the team's Hitter. Proficient in a wide variety of martial arts, it's up to him to get the team out of a tough spot — or, with just the right amount of precision, get the team past high levels of security in a more direct way. He has a close, but frustrating relationship with Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge), whom he feels does not take the job seriously.

Aldis Hodge

Aldis Hodge ('TURN: Washington's Spies', 'City on a Hill') returns as Alec Hardison, a fast-talking Hacker with a heart of gold. He prefers to keep to the shadows, staying out of trouble for as long as possible. Towards the end of the original series, he had entered into a close relationship with fellow teammate Parker (Beth Riesgraf).

Beth Riesgraf returns as Parker, one of the world's most reputable thieves. Highly competent, Parker's single-minded focus on her thievery skills has left her social skills lacking. Finding it a struggle to empathize with other people, she nonetheless has managed to grow close to her fellow teammates — in her own way — and find a romance with Alec Hardison.

The series also welcomes new characters, including five-time Emmy nominee Noah Wyle, who will also direct a few of the series' episodes.

Trailer

There is no trailer released yet for the series.

Creators

Executive producer and director Dean Devlin will be returning to the series as executive producer, and co-creators John Rogers and Chris Downey will be returning as consultants on the new show. Additional EPs for the reimagening include Marc Roskin, Rachel Olschan-Wilson and Kate Rorick.

News

On April 22, 2020, the news of the series' return was announced by Deadline. “Since the day it was canceled, I’ve longed to return to the world of Leverage. The show, the characters, the cast and the people who made it happen all hold a very special place in my heart,” said Devlin, to the site. “Our new series with Amazon Studios and IMDb TV is a re-imagining of the original premise. While Leverage centered on a crusade to avenge the death of a child, this series is propelled forward as a redemption story of misdeeds that need amends. I could not be more excited and fired up about returning to the world of Hitter, Hacker, Grifter, Thief!!”
