The CBS concert special 'Let's Go Crazy: The Grammy Salute to Prince' storms! The show began with a firey performance of 'Let's Go Crazy' with Gary Clark Jr. leading the vocals with Alicia Keys making a surprise guitar and co-vocal entry.  The show was is hosted by actress and comedian Maya Rudolph who will also perform with her Prince cover band.

Following a beautiful performance by Miguel, John Legend took to the stage, shirtless, in a blue suit and sang his rendition of 'Nothing Compares 2 U'

Legend began the soulful choruses and led the crowd to an explosive chorus, complete with a gospel choir and blues band, singing a powerful charge of the chorus with "'Cause nothing compares. No, nothing compares to you. Nothing, nothing."

Although when many of us hear 'Nothing Compares 2 U', we think of Sinéad O'Connor, her version was actually a cover of the Prince song. He originally wrote and composed the song for his side project, The Family, and the song featured on their eponymous album. Later, Prince released his own rendition of 'Nothing Compares 2 U', with Rosie Gaines on guest vocals in 1993.

Fans were quick to comment on the soulful performance and the shirtless John Legend. "@CBS @johnlegend Ok sir! Go ahead with the suit jacket and no shirt!! Superb rendition of Nothing Compares To You. #Prince #GRAMMYSalutePrince" they wrote while another says, "Good tribute so far except John Legend wardrobe...he needed a shirt ijs."

One fans says, "@johnlegend John Legend wearing a suit jacket with no shirt underneath got me saying take it off #princetribute@chrissyteigen". After watching the Legend performance, another fan brought up their post-quarantine plans and says "When this quarantine is over my one and only goal is to get a chest like @johnlegend has right now on this #GRAMMYSalutePrince special!!"

Amongst many fans who were loving the Legend performances, one fan says "Wow it was incredible #GRAMMYSalutePrince" Another says, "So far, the strongest performer was John Legend." One fan said Legend sang "his ass off" while others said he "crushes it" and  "Damn! Sing it" One fan even said the performance brought them to tears" Fans are appreciating the selected songs for the artists. "“Nothing Compares to You” is the perfect song for @johnlegend for this Prince tribute. Song choice has been on point so far. "
