Lauv teases official music video release for 'Love Somebody', elated fans say they're ready to 'cry' with joy
Los Angeles-based singer-producer Lauv has announced that his new song 'Love Somebody' is getting an official music video soon. The new video will release on July 28 at 10 am EST. The 25-year-old 'I Like Me Better' hitmaker took to social media to make the announcement and shared a preview. In the clip, we hear Lauv singing acapella in harmony with his own voice and a few bars of lyrics including, "Why do I do this? Pick you up and put you down and put you through this."
“LOVE SOMEBODY” VIDEO OUT TOMORROW 7AM PST," began Lauv in the caption on Instagram. The singer also revealed that when the video premieres he will chatting with fans as they watch it together. "Ima be in the chat vibing so yea come hang and we can watch the video together," he said, before adding a personal note, "love u guys <33333."
Over on Twitter, fans were in meltdown mode over the news saying, "canttttt waitttttt" and "I love you and this song SO MUCH I'm so excited." One fan said excitedly, "I’ll be there two hours early."
Numerous fans also shared how much they already love the song. "Omggggg this song spoke to me from the moment I heard it," said a fan while another wrote, "I literally listen to love somebody 10 times every day, no joke i love it and i love u." One fan said, "almost memorized all the lyrics of this song." Another shared, "You HAD to choose my fave song off the EP." Other comments included, "IM SO READY TO CRY MY EYES OUT" and "JAJDF I'M NOT READY TO CRY THIS HARD."
'Love Somebody' appears on Lauv's fourth and latest EP, titled 'Without You', which released on June 24, 2020. The song is the fourth track on the EP which also features 'Dishes', 'Mine (You Can't Find Love in Mollywood)' and 'Miss Me (Demo)'.
Lauv's debut studio album, 'How I'm Feeling', was released this year in March. In October 2019, he began promoting the LP with his 'How I'm Feeling Tour' in support of the album. Special guests for the tour included bülow, Chelsea Cutler, and Carlie Hanson. With stops outside the U.S. in Germany, Belgium, Australia, and more, Lauv is set to continue the tour with the earliest date September 16, according to his official site.
