Singer-songwriters Lauv and Conan Gray are joining forces for a new single. Titled 'Fake', the collaborative track is set to release on Tuesday, October 13.

Taking to his social media on Sunday, October 11, Lauv wrote, "LAUV AND CONAN ARE FAKE. OCTOBER 13TH 9AM PST // 12PM EST. @conangray," on both Instagram and Twitter alongside a preview of the song. In the 7-second clip, the pop star pair sing 'You're so f**kin' fake" acapella over two bars' time. If the short teaser is anything to go by, 'Fake' looks like an antheming song of sorts with loud and upbeat music. Check out Lauv and Gray's teaser below.

Fans are freaking out over the announcement. "I’ve never been so excited for anything. 🙌🏼," said a fan in the comments section of Lauv's Instagram while another wrote, "HOW DO I BREATHE." One fan said, "NO F**KING WAYYY :O COLLAB WITH CONAN?!!!!! 💙." Another fan shared, "SCREAMING I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG I LOVE YOU BOTH."

Over on Twitter, many fans are equally excited to see Lauv and Gray teaming together for a single. One fan called them the "DREAM COLLAB," and another wrote, "BEST COLLAB EVER OMG PLSSSSS."

'Fake' will mark the first song that Lauv and Gray have worked on together and the first song that Gray has collaborated with another artiste. Back in May, several reports claimed that there may be an upcoming collaboration with Gray and V (aka Taehyung) from the K-pop boy group BTS. During a V Live session around the time, V played Gray's popular tune, 'The Other Side'. When a fan club shared the snippet on Twitter, Gray tweeted, "I love you :,))) @BTS_twt," to which V replied, "Let's make a song together. :) V." An elated Gray then tweeted back, "I would love to <3 I adore y'all!!" There have been no further reports to confirm their collaboration.

Lauv has worked with numerous other artistes as a guest on their songs along with his own music. Lauv worked with Travis Mills on his song 'Question' in 2016. His 2018 track 'There's No Way' featured Julia Michaels and was certified gold by the RIAA and platinum by the ARIA. In 2019, 'I'm So Tired...' with Troye Sivan certified platinum by the RIAA and 2x-platinum by the ARIA, and the collaboration with Anne-Marie on 'F**k, I'm Lonely', certified gold by the RIAA and platinum by the ARIA. Lauv has featured as a guest singer on songs for artistes such as Ellie Goulding, Saweetie, Ava Max, DJ Snake, BTS and more.
