Lauren Jauregui's debut solo album: Release date, concept and all about former Fifth Harmony member’s much-awaited project
Lauren Jauregui, whom we all know as a former member of the group Fifth Harmony, has been teasing her debut solo album since 2018 and her fans are increasingly growing impatient by the day. Since it has been almost three years, the 24-years-old singer-songwriter recently gave her fans an update on the same via her official Twitter account.
Jauregui began working on solo music in May 2018 and released her debut solo song ‘Expectations’ in October 2018 under Columbia Records. She also contributed to the soundtrack of the film ‘Birds of Prey’ in 2020.
When will Lauren Jauregui drop her debut solo album?
Looking at the Twitter posts of the young crooner, it looks like she must be getting a lot of queries in her DMs as she seemed a little rude and equally frustrated while giving the update on her debut solo album. She posted a thread with two tweets where the first one read, “I can’t help if I’m promised things that aren’t delivered and I also am not going to f**k up this actual release for anyone’s timeline. I’m on God’s time & my own time and I know it’ll be beyond worth it.”
In her second tweet, Jauregui posted, “You will get answers when I have them for you, until then, please stop thinking the reason y’all don’t get music is because of us. There are so many intricacies and things going on behind the scenes you’ll never know, understand, or experience. I’m not a product, I’m an artist.”

Release date
There is no official release date of her yet untitled debut solo project. Rumors were rife in 2020 about the same but unfortunately, nothing ever materialized. Jauregui is expected to release her first album in 2021. MEAWW will keep you posted.
Concept
The ‘Strangers’ hitmaker, who was part of Fifth Harmony from 2012 to 2018, began working on solo music and visuals in 2018. Speaking on the Teen Choice Awards red carpet in 2019, she had shared the good news about her debut solo record saying that, “I got you guys, I promise,” as reported by Billboard. For the unversed, after her debut solo song ‘Expectations’ in October 2018, she dropped another solo project in January 2019 called ‘More Than That.’ In June 2019, Jauregui spoke with Billboard to share a description for the album revealing, “I’m so proud of the way that I’ve been able to articulate my point of view. I’m emo, so you’re gonna get some deep, dark lyrics from my soul, but some bops too…It’s gonna be really fun.”
Interestingly, ‘LJ1 is coming’ was also trending in December 2020 when everybody thought Jauregui was finally releasing her debut album but all fans got was a disappointment. It all started when Jauregui had shared a video of a new track being played from a laptop in the studio. She had captioned the post as “'Where’s the album?' Being tenderly made.”

How’s the buzz?
With latest updates from Jauregui on her album where she revealed that the album will come in its own time, it led to chaos on the Internet as the singer was once again trending on Twitter. A lot of social media users stormed the micro-blogging site to express their opinions. One slammed the crooner and posted, “Just say u flopped and move on.” Another stated, “Take ur time no one wants ur music.” One added, “People are used to products. It’s one of the weapons of capitalism. What differentiates an artist from a product is exactly that. It’s not about numbers, either in views or in money. It’s about delivering an experience, a feeling. And this is the beauty of art. +”
Continuing talking about the album, one individual said, “People have to understand once and for all that you are a real person, they are human and not a machine that has to work 24 hours to have a product to sell in your company look no matter how long it takes to hear and appreciate what you have we your REAL FANS will always be here.” Another stood in support of the singer and said, “S**t happens I don’t understand why people can’t chill the f**k out and be patient.” One shared, “IK we're all impatient as hell but I know it'll be worth the wait. this is your debut, and honestly there aren't very many other artists who get a second chance at a debut ya know? 2020 was also,,,, problematic to say the least we'll be ready tho and it'll be worth it.”
