Lady Louise Windsor draws fashion inspiration from Kate Middleton as she wears her chic pillbox hat at vigil for Queen
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Drawing inspiration from the wardrobe of the new Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, the young Lady Louise Windsor was spotted wearing a black fascinator during the procession of the Queen's coffin as it made its way from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall. Louise, 18, wore the same black headgear that had been worn by Kate Middleton on a couple of occasions.
With members of the Royal family dressed entirely in black to symbolize their mourning, Louise was sharply dressed. The intricate pillbox hat atop her head caught the eye of many who recognized it to have earlier adorned Kate Middleton's outfit during a friend's wedding. That's not all, the same black fascinator had also been worn by Princess Royal's son, Peter Philips' ex-wife Autumn when she attended a christening. So, the headgear has now seen it all - weddings, christenings and now, the Queen's lying-in-state.

The older daughter of the Earl of Wessex, Louise seemed to draw fashion inspiration from the Princess of Wales. She was dressed in a black coat dress with golden buttons and black heels. The intricate fascinator from hatter Whiteley Hats completed the look, with her blonde curls secured away from her face. She had minimal accessories, gold studs and a golden ring. Louise, 18, walked beside her brother, James, Viscount Severn, 14.
The pillbox hat with the finely detailed fascinator in question had first been spotted when Kate Middleton wore it in 2011, before her wedding with Prince William. Her choice of an all-black outfit had caused quite a buzz at the time, seeing that she was attending the wedding of Harry Aubrey-Fletcher and Sarah Louise Stourton in January 2011 in Aldborough. At a winter wedding, she paired her black dress and coat with the black fascinator. The only dab of color was provided by her pair of purple heels that matched her handbag.
As per an article by the Daily Mail, the Princess of Wales wore the same black hat once again in 2013 during an engagement with the Queen at the Baker Street Underground Station, to mark the 150th anniversary of the London Underground.
The next time the black headgear was seen was in 2019, when Autumn Kelly, ex-wife of Princess Anne's son, Peter Phillips donned the fascinator when she attended the christening of Zara Tindall's daughter. The Royal christening took place at St Nicholas Church in Cherington, Gloucestershire, with many members of the Royal family in attendance, including the Queen, Princess Anne, Prince Harry and Meghan. During the event, Autumn was dressed in a vibrant blue dress coat which she paired with the black hat.
Now, attending the emotional service for the Queen at Westminster Hall, Lady Louise looked solemn as she paid her respects to her grandmother.
