Fans are gearing up for the highly anticipated Lady Gaga and Blackpink collaboration 'Sour Candy', which will drop on May 29 as part of Gaga's 'Chromatica' album. Lady Gaga and Blackpink's fandoms, the Little Monsters and Blinks respectively, have united under the #GagaPink hashtag to share their excitement for the collaboration. "How am I supposed to breathe now that #SourCandy is coming. #BLACKPINKISCOMING @ygofficialblink," asked one Blink, while another said, "SOUR CANDY IS GONNA DESTROY ME @ygofficialblink."

Blackpink's feature on Gaga's upcoming album will mark their first release following last year's 'Kill This Love' EP, meaning it has been over a year since Blinks have heard from the girls. And while they did release the promotional track 'Awesome' this year in collaboration with Samsung for Galaxy A series and have remained quite active on social media, nothing could possibly make up for the lack of activity from the group, something fans blame their agency YG Entertainment for.

After the criticism, YG has finally announced that Blackpink will return in 2020 with their first Korean studio album, to be released later in the year. But as Blinks patiently wait for it to drop, 'Sour Candy' will serve as an appetizer of what is to come from the record-breaking quartet this year. Some are already counting the minutes with one tweeting, "12 hours and 20 minutes left until SOUR CANDY," while others are spending their time creating fan edits of the five women together, stating, "Ugh the power that this photo holds. Not a big accoung but SOUR CANDY IS COMING! @ygofficialblink #SourCandy #SourCandyIsComing (sic)."

Fans have cautioned their fellow Blinks and Little Monsters to be wary of leaks prior to the song and album's official release, tweeting, "Blinks tomorrow Sour Candy will be available from the morning because the eastern countries are going to have the album so PLEASE do not filter it or listen to it, let's respect Gaga's work and hang in there 24 hours, @ygofficialblink #SourCandy #GAGAPINK."

Gaga herself has spoken about the upcoming collaboration in an interview with Japanese media outlet TV Groove, stating, "I called BLACKPINK and asked if they wanted to work on the song with me, and they were enthusiastic and delighted to. I wanted to support powerful women like BLACKPINK, and they felt the same way."

As one Blink stated, "Blackpink will join an elite group of women to collaborate with the iconic Lady Gaga," which includes the likes of Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, and of course, more recently, Ariana Grande on the hit song 'Rain On Me'. And given how much fans already love 'Rain On Me', it's no surprise they are expecting an even bigger hit with 'Sour Candy'. One fan stated, "I'm 100% sure that Sour Candy is a bop!!!! Given that Rain On Me is also a f***ing bop... and of course what do ya'll expect of queen Lady f**ing Gaga and BLACKPINK?!?!?!! Everyone pls say SOUR CANDY IS COMING @ygofficialblink."

Gaga also shared, "We had a great time making 'Sour Candy' together. I was excited to hear them interpret the song in Korean, and I let them know that their part was very creative and pleasant." On why she was eager to work with the K-pop girl group Gaga said, "I was amazed hearing their songs. They are beautiful young women and very talented. I am proud to become the 5th member of BLACKPINK with this song." And as fans continue to enthusiastically tweet, "SOUR CANDY IS COMING" in celebration of an iconic moment for both Western and South Korean music, Blinks, who have waited far too long for this moment, have stated, "BLACKPINK IS COMING B*****S."
