Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande joined forces to bring us an insane collab in 'Rain on Me' that released on Friday, May 22. The song was also accompanied by an official music video and features on Lady Gaga's upcoming studio album 'Chromatica'. Good news for fans: the new 'Rain on Me' mega pop collaboration is racing ahead on the charts.
On May 24, Billboard reported that the track is currently leading the UK singles chart. The song rules the Official Chart First Look Top 20 with a lead of 7,000 chart sales over its nearest rival, rapper DaBaby’s 'Rockstar' featuring Roddy Ricch. If it continues to reign when the Official UK Singles Chart is published this Friday (May 29), 'Rain on Me' will mark the sixth No. 1 for both Gaga and Grande.
Fans on Twitter are full steam ahead in support of the two pop stars, with many calling them "queens". "As they should. We stan two queens" declared a fan while another wrote, "Because they’re the queens of pop that’s why!" One fan also added, "HOT 100 SOON," referencing Billboard's Hot 100 chart. A fan also pointed out the fact that both singers have Italian roots, saying, "Italian Queens conquering the UK charts we love to see it."
Another said. "I love them with all of my heart they are such talented,beautiful,strong women. " Several fans want Grande and Gaga to score high in the USA charts as well: "Better get it on USA too," says a fan.
Meanwhile, 'Rain on Me' ranked as Spotify’s No. 1 song globally and in the United States for May 22. It earned No. 1 on the daily global chart with 6.743 million streams. An opening day American figure of 2.235 million yielded No. 1 on the US chart.
The song also scored well on Apple Music. It ranked as Friday’s No. 1 song on the Global Apple Music Chart and earned No. 17 on the US Apple Music listing. It is climbing considerably on YouTube, currently at 41 million views. The collab also attracted first-day attention at radio, while earning No. 1 on the US iTunes sales chart.
