After the successful run of two seasons, NBC's science fiction series 'La Brea' is returning with its third and final season.
'La Brea' Season 3 will premiere on NBC on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 9 pm ET/PT.
What happened in 'La Brea' Season 2?
The story is set in the early 2020s when a mysterious sinkhole appears in the middle of Los Angeles and pulls hundreds of people, vehicles, and buildings into its depths. The survivors find themselves in a primitive time and they must reunite to fight the unknown dangers and find a way back through the portal before it closes.
'LA Brea' season 2 centers around the survivors trying to access a secret lab that could potentially be the only portal left for them to go home. Gavin dies while saving Eve from a giant lizard.
With the help of a time machine, Eve and Izzy go back in time by four hours to leave a warning for Gavin, and when they return to the "present", Gavin is alive, courtesy of their warning. The portal goes Haywire and Eve is sucked and sent away to an unknown timeline.
It is also disclosed that the sinkholes were caused by the Lazarus Project run by people from the future (year 2076) who are exploring how to deal with their period's exhausting resources and how to master de-extinction.
What to expect in 'La Brea' Season 3?
A sneak peek of the premiere episode showcases a new threat for the 10,000 BC survivors as dinosaurs create havoc and scatter everyone.
Survivors will look for a new, safer place to stay. In season 3, Gavin will find a clue to the whereabouts of Eve who was sucked into the portal and sent to a distant time away from the rest of her family.
