LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner is believed to be asking for more money as the apparent drama surrounding him and Paramount Network's  ‘Yellowstone’ gets intense. It has been said that the 68-year-old actor, the main attraction of the drama series airing since June 2018, gets $1.2 million for a single episode.

However, as per RadarOnline.com, he now wants $1.5 million per episode along with compensation for promotion days if he is to continue in Season 6. This comes as rumors have been rife lately that he will soon say goodbye to ‘Yellowstone’. Reports have said that he’s having trouble with the show’s maker Taylor Sheridan and his co-stars, who think he is tough to work with.

‘Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone’

Besides, early in February, a Paramount Network spokesperson gave a very conflicting statement to Deadline. They said, “We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come. Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built. Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner.”

Not just that, it was reported that the Oscar winner has stepped back from his actual promise and now wants to work less than he initially committed. Some reports even held his wife Christine Baumgartner responsible for it. Previously RadarOnline citing a tipster shared, “It's really knocked a hole in their family life. The show is such a mega-hit, producers want it to go on forever! However, Christine wants her husband to hang up his cowboy hat.”

Another source revealed in 2022, “She wants a firm commitment this is his last season — or he might have to hit the dusty trail” as an insider added, “It’s no secret that Kevin’s been getting itchy feet, but he’s not saying either way if he’s in or out. It’s driving cast and crew alike crazy!”

‘It’s ridiculous’

Meanwhile, Costner’s attorney Marty Singer has denied all the accusations and blame against his client as he told Puck News, "The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of Season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie.” The lawyer also added, "It’s ridiculous—and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second. As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success."

The recent developments have grabbed people’s attention as well as they shared mixed reactions online. A user tweeted, “They should just kill him off and continue with the show and have Rip & Beth run the ranch it’s better without him in it anyway.” Another one said, “Dude's 68. If he wants to be semi retired, let him. Good for Kevin.” “This is left wing woke liberals spreading lies because you almost can’t get anymore anti woke then this show and they hate it,” the third one added.
