LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The hit drama series ‘Yellowstone’ may end soon as the main lead, Kevin Costner, is reportedly causing problems. Show co-creator Taylor Sheridan now reportedly plans to rope in Matthew McConaughey to go forward with a spin-off that will also see many faces from the original cast.
Though the Paramount Network is yet to speak about Costner’s future, a spox told Deadline, “We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come. Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built. Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner.”

Insiders reportedly said that Costner's future with the show did not seem bright as the 68-year-old was reluctant to work continuously. The Academy Award-winning actor had reportedly first committed to 65 days of shooting for Season 5 but later changed it to only 50 days. Not just that, when creators began planning for a second part of Season 5, Costner demanded that he would only film for a week.
It was also reported that the ‘Dances with Wolves’ star was also busy working on Warner Bros' Western epic ‘Horizon’. Besides, his wife, Christine Baumgartner, wants him more at home. Sources told RadarOnline, “It's really knocked a hole in their family life. The show is such a mega-hit, producers want it to go on forever! However, Christine wants her husband to hang up his cowboy hat, with an insider saying her patience is starting to fray.”
In 2022, another insider reportedly said, “She wants a firm commitment this is his last season — or he might have to hit the dusty trail!” Another insider reportedly said, “It’s no secret that Kevin’s been getting itchy feet, but he’s not saying either way if he’s in or out.
