Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock have been the talk of the town ever since the two decided to head in different directions in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. In the latest update, Kelly got the blow after a judge blocked the singer from evicting her ex-husband off her ranch in Montana. A source spilled the beans to Us Weekly saying “The judge ruled in his favor, but the order hasn't been formally signed off on.”

The source added, “He has been living in it and said he doesn't have the financial means to afford to purchase a residence of his own at this time, citing the unresolved financial aspect of their divorce.” The ranch reportedly costs 81K per month to maintain and the pop singer pays Brandon a total of $195,601 per month in child/spousal support. While both Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock have been quiet about their split, the former did drop a few hints in her earlier interviews. Kelly first met Brandon in 2006. The duo confirmed their couple status to the public at a party in Tennessee in May 2012.

Why did Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock divorce?

Kelly Clarkson had officially announced that she was legally single in August 2021. While both have stayed mum on why they got divorced, they had cited “irreconcilable differences” while taking the big move. A source close to Kelly spilled the reason behind their divorce to Us Magazine in June 2020, saying, “They clashed on so many levels, and being in quarantine together heightened their problems to the point of no return. So she filed for divorce”, adding, “Everyone thought Kelly and Brandon had the perfect marriage, but they definitely didn’t. Brandon’s very laid-back, whereas Kelly’s pretty high-strung.”

In an interview with Willie Geist, the 39-year-old did address her divorce in September 2020, as reported by Us Magazine. The 'Since U Been Gone' hitmaker said, “I mean, it’s no secret. My life has been a little bit of a dumpster.” She added, “Personally, it’s been a little hard the last couple of months. I’ve been talking to friends that have been through divorce. I don’t know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved.”

‘It’s so hard on everyone’

Kelly had again dropped a hint on her divorce with Brandon in the same month after she spoke to Hoda Kotb on the Today show. Speaking about how she was dealing with a public split, the Grammy-winning singer stated, “You can ask anyone who’s gone through a divorce, I don’t think anyone expects it. You see yourself growing old with someone and then life has a different path.”

The songstress added, “It’s so hard on everyone, and you know me, I’m really open. I try to be open and share. We all go through things. But at the same time, we have four kids total with each other. That’s a lot of hearts involved, and you just have to be really careful.” She concluded, “We’re in the public eye so that’s hard too, to try and be truthful but also keep your privacy.” Kelly and Brandon got married in 2013 as the singer-songwriter also became the stepmom to Brandon’s children from his previous marriage. Switch to June 2014, Kelly welcomed her first child with Brandon. ‘The Voice’ coach in 2015 announced that she was pregnant with her second child. On April 12, 2016, the couple welcomed their baby boy. Kelly, on the work front, recently wrapped up the 21st season of the singing reality show ‘The Voice’.  She also hosts her weekly ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ aired on NBC.
