Kelly Clarkson and her husband Brandon Blackstock are heading for a divorce after nearly seven years of marriage. The American pop singer filed for divorce in June with her talent manager and husband Brandon Blackstock. The couple has two children from their marriage, namely River Rose, 5, and Remington Alexander, 4. Blackstock also has two other children from his previous marriage.

The first-ever 'American Idol' winner, who is not shy speaking about her life and career, recently told Los Angeles Times in an interview that she won’t fully open about her divorce. She asserted, "I am a very open person, but I’m not going to be able to be truly open about this in certain aspects because there’s kids involved. I think that I will navigate a way in which to be open and honest about it eventually, probably via the show, and it’ll probably, I’m assuming, happen organically when someone says something in conversation or something. It definitely wouldn’t be planned."

Here’s a look at the timeline of their relationship.

The 'Since U Been Gone' hitmaker first met her husband in 2006 through her manager Narvel Blackstock. Yes, Brandon was her manager's son. In a 2012 interview with the Daily Mail, the 38-year-old singer had said, "I've known him (Brandon) for six years, but he was married for most of that time. Then, suddenly, there he was at the (2012) Super Bowl and he was single."

US Weekly reported that the duo confirmed their couple status to the public at a party in Tennessee on May 31, 2012. The same year, Brandon popped the question after dating for less than 10 months. Kelly was super casual about it as she tweeted, "I'M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y'all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night!" she continued in the post. "I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever."

In 2013, the couple tied the knot and the singer-songwriter also became the stepmom to Brandon’s children from his previous marriage. Switch to June 2014, Kelly welcomed her first child with Brandon. She had then tweeted, "Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!!"

Continuing with the good news, ‘The Voice’ judge announced in 2015 that she was pregnant with her second child. On April 12, 2016, the couple welcomed their baby boy. She had then tweeted the good news to her fans. "Remington Alexander Blackstock was born 4/12/16 & he is healthy & we couldn’t be happier or more in love!"

The couple kept their love life very open on social media platforms. The Emmy-Award winning host revealed in a lot of interviews how much she was attracted to her husband and how they made love every night. Switch to 2020, the duo was quarantining in Montana while also filming the remote episodes of her much-renowned show called ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show'.

However, as we mentioned earlier, she filed for divorce in June. In one of her most recent interviews, Kelly also spoke about her new album and said, "This next record, this will probably be the most personal one I’ve ever released. The whole record is basically every emotion you experience from the beginning of a relationship to the end of what it is now. It’s been very therapeutic for me…it’s very honest."
