Kelly Clarkson claims estranged husband Brandon Blackstock and his father ‘defrauded her out of millions’
Kelly Clarkson's divorce battle with her estranged husband is getting uglier by the day as the singer has alleged that Brandon Blackstock and his father “defrauded her out of millions”, according to legal documents filed with the California Labor Commission.
Brandon and Narvel Blackstock have reportedly worked as Clarkson's personal managers for several years. The documents also mentioned that Brandon “defrauded Kelly by charging exorbitant fees”. Now, after the pair separated, Clarkson wants her hard-earned money back into her account.
The Sun reported that the papers were filed in October this year, a month after Narvel's Starstruck Management accused the 38-year-old singer of owing them $1.4million and potentially millions more which she earned from ‘The Voice’. The legal documents said that Brandon and Narvel were a “fraudulent and subterfuge device” for her managers to perform “illegal services” as agents. The father-son duo allegedly has no license in California.
The paper filed by Clarkson and her attorney, Edwin McPherson, stated: “All agreements between the parties, should be declared void and unenforceable, no monies should be paid by [Clarkson] to [Starstruck Management and the Blackstocks]. All monies previously paid by [Clarkson] to [Starstruck Management and the Blackstocks] should be disgorged forthwith.”
This comes after court documents revealed that the ‘Because Of You’ singer and Brandon have been ordered not to use “derogatory” words for each other in front of their children. It was also said that Clarkson — whose net worth is $45 million according to Celebrity Net Worth — was given the primary custody of six-year-old River and four-year-old Remy since she can provide “stability and continuity” to the two.
The official documents stated that the “level of conflict between the parents has increased” and both of them are having a “difficult time co-parenting due to issues of trust between them.”
In addition, Clarkson and her ex were told by the court “not to speak in a derogatory manner about the other parent to the minor children.” “The custodial parent shall not allow the minor children to be in the presence of any third party who speaks about the other parent in a derogatory manner.” The estranged pair will reportedly share the joint custody of the little children and both of them got the rights to decide for their health, education and welfare.
Since the kids will live with their mother, Brandon will get the parenting chance on every first, third, and fifth weekend of each month. Also, at the time when one parent would be taking care of the kids and the other will have the full right to daily FaceTime calls at 5 pm each day or at an agreed time.
The former couple has also been banned from driving with the children “within 8 hours of consuming alcohol or any other intoxicating substance, including, but not limited to, any and all cannabis products.”
Meanwhile, previous reports stated that Brandon has asked for $5.2 million per year in the name of spousal support from Clarkson. “Brandon's been equally unreasonable in his requests for child and spousal support, as well as attorney fees. Kelly's offered to pay for all the kids' expenses, but Brandon seems to think he is entitled to and needs $301K in spousal support and $135K in child support per month.
Additionally, he's already asked for $2M for attorney fees when he's the one driving up the cost of the divorce with seven attorneys just representing him alone,” a source said.
