Keanu Reeves says just 380 words in 169-minute long 'John Wick: Chapter 4', 10% featured in trailer
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘John Wick’ can be so many things, being a loquacious person is not one of them. It has been reported that Keanu Reeves spoke only 380 words in the entire 169-minute fourth film of the franchise, ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’. It has also been reported that he was paid a whopping $15M for the movie.
This has led to fans speculating if he was paid $39,473 per word in the slick action movie, notwithstanding the fact that the on-screen assassin has delivered a stellar performance in the action sequences as well. A third of his dialogues in the action movie was just "Yeah," as per Deadline. The main character had the least number of dialogues in this installment in the franchise. According to WSJ, Wick says just four words per line on an average, throughout the movie, while 10% of the lines were featured in the trailer.

Keanu Reeves' 'hardest physical role ever'
However, the lack of words does not mean the star did not have to do anything. Speaking to Total Film, Reeves said, "John Wick: Chapter 4 was the hardest physical role I’ve ever had in my career so far. They really trained me up to be able to have what we call the toolbox." Speaking about his stunt driving, he said, "We took the car-driving to the next level, which I really enjoy," adding, "There’s 180s, forward-into-reverse 180s, reverse into-forward 270s, drifting… So it was really fun to get a chance to learn those skills, and to play".
In another interview with ComicBook, 'The Matrix' star talked about how physically taxing working in an action movie was. He said, "Well I mean everyone is pretty tired – but it's the best kind of tired. It's like you climbed a mountain now you're resting; like you finished the game and you won." Talking about an accident that happened during filming, he said, "So in terms of accidents: I made a mistake once – I cut a gentleman's head open. So that really f*****g sucked (excuse my language). But other than that – oh, one guy got hit by a car. He was in the car, so he had to go to the hospital, but he was okay."
'Loved every one of those 380 words!'
Reeves has been massively praised for his dedication and hard work in the fourth chapter of the franchise. While some joked about his salary per word, some praised his stunts. "I guess he threw in the months of fight training and stunt work for free!" wrote a fan. "I think he was also being paid for the nonverbal parts," said a second. "True, but that man can pack volumes of meaning into a pause," another chimed in. Another said, "Loves every one of those 380 words!"

"Just saying... Keanu can say NOTHING for three hours and I will still watch it," a fan said. "Talk is cheap, and Baba Yaga likes expense," commented another. "The director Chad said John Wick known as the Boogey Man , he’s not supposed to talk much," wrote another.
