Katy Perry previews five teaser snippets from upcoming album 'Smile', here's a quick rundown and tracklist

The weekly previews are part of Katy Perry's weekly Smile Sunday sessions, ahead of the 'Smile' album's release

Katy Perry will be releasing her sixth studio album, 'Smile', on August 28 via Capitol Records after the record's release date was pushed back due to unavoidable production delays. The album has been described as Katy Perry's "journey towards the light, with stories of resilience, hope, and love," and the singer herself had previously admitted, "I was gonna put a record out in June, I pushed it a little bit." But fans should be willing to wait just a little while longer, since the 'American Idol' judge has been making up for the delay by giving us some teaser snippets from the album.

Katy Perry began previewing a few songs from the 12-track album (the fan edition contains 16 tracks) in a weekly session called Smile Sundays, which means we already have clips available for five forthcoming tracks so far. All this comes in addition to the previously released songs from the album, like the lead single, 'Daisies' (May 2020), the title track, 'Smile' (July 2020), and the standalone singles, 'Never Really Over' (May 2019) and 'Harleys in Hawaii' (October 2019), which were released last year.

Besides these tracks, Katy Perry will also be including the singles, 'Small Talk' (August 2019) and 'Never Worn White' (March 2020), in the fan edition of the album. She had also recently revealed that the Target edition of her 'Smile' album would include the bonus track, 'High On Your Supply', along with an additional Easter egg called 'Track 14' (Voice Memo) that won't feature on other versions of the album. Perry admitted that the former track had been recorded "when I was feeling like this is the end of the world" when the pandemic panic had begun to ravage the nation back in March, so it should prove to be quite interesting. What's more, the 'Roar' hitmaker also announced she would be releasing another music video sometime this week, which will be designed like a video game, similar to RHCP's 'Californication' visual concept.

"We used the world of a video game to tell some of our story because it does feel like we're living in a simulation right now, where we're all trying to get out of this episode," she revealed.
