LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Kim Kardashian and her rapper ex-husband Kanye West’s eldest daughter, North was on cloud nine when Katy Perry called the nine-year-old starlet onstage to shake a leg with the popstar during her Las Vegas residency PLAY at Resorts World, Saturday night. Kim Kardashian could be spotted having a proud mother time during the concert where she beamed with joy when North was called on stage.

It was noted that Perry, 38, arranged a “walk-off competition” for her Firework Foundation and “invited North West onto the stage” to take part. In the end, North indeed emerged victorious along with another participant whom Perry treated with “pizza pies” rewards.

An insider revealed to Daily Mail, “While on the stage North asked if her friends could join her and Katy obliged.” The concert was a star-studded affair as it also had Paris Hilton and Sia in attendance. Katy Perry too shared clips on her Instagram.

North West's musical journey

This is, however, not the first time that the nine-year-old is appearing on stage. In March 2020, she made her rap debut during Paris Fashion Week at her father Kanye West’s fashion brand Yeezy’s Season 8 Show.

In 2019, Kim Kardashian shared an adorable video of North performing on Lil Nas X's 'Old Town Road' with the caption, "What we do on maternity leave.... Directed and Choreographed by North @lilnasx"

In January, the mother-daughter duo was back together at a TikTok made on a Taylor Swift song. They appeared in a TikTok video of Swift's 'Shake it Off', reports Billboard. In March 2023, North West appeared in an Ice Spice rendition on TikTok; However, the video received some social media flak as it had North performed on some lyrics not befitting a child, reveals Vibe. 

'This is the peak of Nepotism'

The reactions were varied to the news. While some praised the act, some users also criticized stating the North West got the chance because she is a celebrity child. "I’m sorry this is peak privilege. I’m sure there r so many other low income kids in the audience s who would of loved to come on stage with Katy. But instead she invites up her friends kids who can get a private show from Katy whenever they ask. So disrespectful and distasteful," showed their displeasure one. The second reiterated, "So, only the super-entitled rich people benefit again? What about all the regular kids who paid for their tickets?" The third mused, "Funny how Kim’s kids probably wanna see Taylor Swift and they can’t because of what she did lmao." However, another supported the child, "You all are so hateful lol these little girls are having fun yes they are rich but they are literally just kids having fun jfc." 

Another posted an adorable clip comparing her to her mother, Kris Jenner by writing, "Kim is like." Seeing the act and the children enjoying themselves, one fan commented, "Yknow how we used to have birthday partys when we were young and we’d have this person host our party and they get kids on the stage doin random things, this reminds me of that lmao." Another dissenter commented, "Imagine being her she gets everything she must be so out of touch with reality." "This is the peak of Nepotism. Getting to go on stage with Katy Perry just becaise your mommy & daddy are famous. Give these chances to actual deserving kids with actual talent," repeats another.
