'Katy Keene' Episode 7: Jorge and his boyfriend get attacked, upset fans say 'he doesn't deserve that'

This musical episode, 'Chapter Seven: Kiss of the Spider Woman', came with enough feels of reality to spring up a few tears. The character development of Jorge Lopez (Jonny Beauchamp) is an intense and realistic one.
In the previous episodes, we see that Jorge's mother, Mrs Lopez (Daphne Rubin-Vega) finds out about Ginger Lopez, her son's drag persona. While that emotional scene brought them closer together, his mom asked him to keep Ginger away from Mr Lopez, as it might be too much. In this episode, we see the consequences of this scenario and fans were extended their support for Jorge.
"Jorge’s dad is so homophobic. Gross. #KatyKeene," tweeted a fan. We don't know to what extent the show will take this narrative, but Jorge's father seems to be portraying a character that exists in this current world of ours. He did call his son a "star" in this episode, so maybe we're getting somewhere on the acceptance front, yes? "I’m happy Jorge’s mother is supportive. #KatyKeene," tweeted a fan, and boy is that the truth.
"That ending pissed me off Jorge don't deserve that #KatyKeene," tweeted another fan. The end of the episode also saw Jorge and his boyfriend, Bernardo (Ryan Faucett), getting attacked in a string of LGBTQ attacks. While his mother warned him about this as all mothers do, it shows a stark reality as to how things play out in the real world. It's great to see the comic book universe touch on issues that hit home to many individuals out there, and whether it's for comfort or for awareness, it takes away the stigma associated with people in the LGBTQ.

Of course, fans were riled up, especially since the episode took a dark turn towards the end. "Oh boy, I won’t be able to deal if anything happens to Jorge and Bernardo.... come back next week to find out what happened to our favorite couple #KatyKeene," tweeted another.
It seems as though fans are really shipping this couple with one tweeting, "How cute are these two? Jornardo? What are we calling Jorge and Bernardo? #KatyKeene." along with an adorable GIF from tonight's episode.
