'She'll always care': Katie Holmes worries about ex Jamie Foxx as he remains hospitalized
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Katie Holmes is apparently deeply concerned about her ex-boyfriend Jamie Foxx following his hospitalization that is shrouded in secrecy. The pair notably dated on and off for nearly six years after being spotted together in 2013.
Sources told Radar Online that the actress, 44, was taken aback by the news of the 55-year-old 'Collateral' star being hospitalized after suffering a "serious medical episode." Holmes and Foxx reportedly remained on good terms following an amicable split in May 2019. “They spent a lot of time together, and she’ll always care about him," an insider told the outlet. The separation wasn't confirmed until months later when Foxx was seen clubbing with a mystery woman.

Sources told Radar Online that Foxx and Holmes tried their best to make things work. An insider said before their breakup, “When they can spend time together, they do. When they’re busy and they can’t, they don’t. They are two adults who enjoy each other’s company and have for a long time.” Another source claimed, “Katie and Jamie see each other as frequently as they can. They have known each other for years, and both turned out to be great parents, so they also have that in common. They are dedicated to their careers. Plus they give each other space.” That said, the relationship was somewhat controversial since Foxx had worked with Holmes' ex-husband Tom Cruise in the past.
Foxx continues to be hospitalized in Atlanta after he was checked into the facility on April 11 due to an unknown medical crisis. The actor had reportedly been shooting the film 'Back In Action' alongside Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close. “Jamie suffered a serious medical episode and needed immediate attention,” a source told Radar Online. “It was touch and go for days with him, and he had to be revived — he is very lucky to be alive!” The insider added, “He’s very lucky he got the treatment he did."
It was Foxx's daughter Corrine, 29, who confirmed the news on social media, writing, “Luckily due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.” It was later revealed that Foxx is “awake” and “alert” after the terrifying incident. However, the 'Day Shift' actor still hasn't appeared in public as of May 9. His Instagram page shared a message in the meantime, saying, “Appreciate all the love!!!! Feeling blessed.”
According to CNN, the desire for privacy is "in keeping" with how the 'Ray' star has always lived, especially with his career always putting him in the spotlight. Foxx notably dated Holmes for a half a dozen years, but their relationship was never confirmed despite the duo being photographed over the years in romantic dates or public appearances.

Former 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' cast member Claudia Jordan appeared to confirm their relationship during a podcast appearance in 2016. “He is very happy with her. I like that he seems very happy," she said. However, she later walked back on her comments saying she "misspoke." She told Entertainment Tonight, “I have no knowledge of Jamie with Katie at all. I’ve never seen them together.”

Then, about two years later, during an interview with SportsCenter host Michael Smith, the actor was asked, "Did you and Katie Holmes play basketball for Valentine’s Day? Like some real Love & Basketball?” Foxx responded by abruptly ending the interview by taking off his headset and walking away, per CNN.
