Did Kanye West replace Jay-Z’s verse with DaBaby? Fans dub the stunt as ‘illegal’
When a month ago DaBaby got severely trolled for asking a feature from Jay-Z, no one knew he will end up replacing the hip-hop heavyweight on a song that too on Kanye West’s new album ‘Donda’. Yes, West left the Internet in shock after he brought DaBaby to the third listening event at Soldier Field stadium in Chicago on Thursday, August 26, and made him rap on a song that was supposed to feature a verse from his good friend Jay-Z.
The 44-year-old rap icon had first revealed the untitled song with Jay-Z during the very first listening event in Atlanta on July 22 which also ended their long cold war. However, the Internet was left stunned when on the same song, DaBaby spits his bars during the third listening party. West also got slammed for bringing Marilyn Manson to the venue as the latter is currently facing multiple sexual lawsuits.

Did Kanye West replace Jay-Z’s verse with DaBaby?
The fans who were earlier elated with a surprise Jay-Z verse, now could not digest the fact that DaBaby replaced the rap veteran. The Ohio native has been making headlines for the last few weeks for his controversial homophobic rant at the Rolling Loud music festival 2021. DaBaby later got dropped from six music festivals despite apologizing thrice. He had also deleted one of his social media apologies causing much uproar on the Internet. Also, Kanye West had recently removed the explicit remix of his 2020 song ‘Nah Nah Nah’ from all the streaming platforms following the music festival row. The remix featured rappers 2Chainz and DaBaby on guest verses.
Speaking of Kanye West’s 10th studio album, the earlier listening events revealed that artists like Don Toliver, Young Thug, Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, Jay Electronica, The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, Kid Cudi, and a few others have been tapped for their respective guest verses. The album is expected to hit the leading streaming platforms on Friday, August 27.
