Kanye West has gone through a lot in the last two years, including his failed US Presidential bid, frequent Twitter meltdowns and his recent divorce from Kim Kardashian. And it looks like he has addressed all the issues in his upcoming 10th album ‘Donda’. The multi-platinum rapper recently held a secret listening party of the album in Las Vegas and it was reported that he apparently took a dig at his former reality star wife on one of his songs.
The news of him dissing Kim Kardashian was widely discussed on social media. However, in the latest update, a few sources have quashed the rumors. Though the official tracklist of ‘Donda’ is yet to be announced, apparently a song from the new project called ‘Welcome To My Life’ talks about the rapper comparing his marital home with ex-wife Kim Kardashian to a “prison”. The news comes after it was reported that he apparently broke down in tears on stage at his album listening party. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, who got married in Florence, Italy, in 2014, officially filed for divorce in February 2021 citing “irreconcilable differences”. They share joint custody of their daughters North, 8, Chicago, 3, and sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, 2.

According to New York Post, multiple sources confirmed to the publication that the 44-year-old rapper has not passed any derogatory remarks about his former wife on the album. Speaking on the same lines, sources said, “Kanye actually played the song for Kim personally before the listening party. It’s emotional and personal. Not negative at all.”
Other sources spilled the beans to The Sun revealing that the song ‘Welcome To My Life’ talks about his recent troubles including the divorce from Kim. According to the sources, on the song, West raps, “Tell the assassins I escaped from Calabasas.” A source further told The Sun, “It's a very deep, sad song about Kanye, with him reflecting on his marriage with Kim. He talks about the kids and mentions her taking everything. After he played this song he paused for like, two minutes, and cried. It was really sombre.” Kim Kardashian recently spoke about Kanye West to Andy Cohen during a reunion special of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians', saying, “That was my friend first and foremost for a long time, so I can’t see that going away. I will forever be Kanye’s biggest fan. He’s the father of my kids. Kanye will always be family”, as published by the New York Post.
When is ‘Donda’ releasing?
‘Donda’ is Kanye West’s 10th studio album and is a follow-up to his 2019 gospel album called ‘Jesus Is King’. The full-length project is expected to hit the Internet on Friday, July 23. The ‘Life Of A Pablo’ hitmaker is yet to spill the official details on the same. The rapper, however, has planned an album release party on Thursday, July 22, in Atlanta as revealed by Pusha T’s Instagram post.
Media personality and former basketball player Justin Laboy was apparently present at the very private listening party along with Kevin Durant and if we believe his most recent tweets then West is dropping his new album this week for sure. Laboy had shared a few insights while an invitation card of the private event also got circulated on Twitter. Basketball icon Kevin Durant also marked his attendance at the event.
