YG Entertainment’s K-pop group iKon released their much-anticipated comeback single ‘Why Why Why’ and the deeply emotional single has taken over the internet. The band members had talked about the sentiments behind the single in an interview and after listening to it, fans have realized why Kim Donghyuk teared up while recording the single as fans can’t stop ‘crying’ about it.

Speaking of the song in an interview, Donghyuk shared, ‘Why Why Why’ is a song that talks of a “lover's separation. It's a sad song in which I can't understand the breakup, so I keep asking myself and that person while also accepting the breakup. All the members put a lot of effort to convey the emotion contained in the lyrics.” The 24-year-old K-pop crooner added, “Even when recording, the producers valued our emotions very much. I started to tear up while recording. I worked hard and recorded the track over the course of three days.”

The music video depicts a love story that is almost like a flower, first it blooms and it is beautiful but eventually it wilts with time. Fans have also hailed the music video for using clever aesthetics to convey the emotions along with the piercing vocals of the artists, especially in the scene where iKon sings against the setting red Sun while Ju-ne sings ‘All of us that burned red, only ash remained white.’
