'We're so proud of you': Fans react as BTS heartthrob Jin shares his new buzz cut ahead of military service

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Kim Seok-jin, 30, the eldest member of BTS, entered the frontline South Korean boot camp on Tuesday, December 13, to start his 18 months of mandatory military service. Prior to this, he posted a picture of his buzz cut on the fan community Weverse and wrote, “Now it's time for a curtain call,” and also joked that it was "cuter" than he had imagined.

Fans applauded his move while some were left teary-eyed. One of them wrote, "We're so proud of you Jin. Although it's so hard for us but we will take care of ourselves cuz you taught us to be strong. We will wait for you. You also take care of yourself and stay happy, healthy and safe. We will miss you." Another said, "Have a safe military service Jin. I wish the time flies fast and we will reunite again. I hope you will always stay happy and healthy. We will wait for you." One of many fans said, "I will be waiting. Waiting forever if I need to. Come back healthy Jin, both mentally n physically. That's all I wish for."

The messages continued to pour in with one saying, "I love you so much Jin, please stay healthy and take care of yourself. Hope this winter is warmer for you and next upcoming seasons for the time being be comfortable for you, take care my love." One more said, "@bts_twt it's hitting so bad rn but I only wish you safe military service and return my love :( I love you so much u know I'll wait for you, 2 years is long but I'll be here forever." A fan wrote, "December 13th, 2022 is BTS’ last day together as they send off Jin to a military camp. a heartwarming goodbye for their beloved Hyung for a while. we have to wait for almost two and a half years to see them complete, but no matter how long, BTS is always be worth the wait."



 



 



 

The band's music performance director, Sungdeuk Son, also shared the photo on his Instagram, writing, as quoted by People, "I hope you have a healthy trip and [this is] a precious time in your life..."
