Rap titans opt for tough rivals at Verzuz Battle, Juicy J wants Three 6 Mafia to go head-to-head with NWA

The Verzuz Battle hype is just as fired up as ever and rappers are still opting for their choice rival on the series. One exciting example of that is Juicy J after he shared that his group Three 6 Mafia needs a matchup against the legendary rap group NWA on the popular web series.

According to HotNewHipHop, the 'Show Out' rapper dropped his challenge in the comments during the live battle of Brandy and Monica earlier on Monday, August 31: "Three 6 mafia vs NWA." A fan shared a screenshot of the comment on Twitter and wrote, "now juicy j know that NWA will eat them up."

This is not the first time that Juicy J has challenged the rap titans for a Verzuz Battle. Back in July, Juicy J said he wanted to face Dr Dre (former NWA member) with the tweet, “I wanna do a Verzus battle wit Dr Dre no cappuccino.” Later that month, the Memphis rapper also declared himself a worthy contender on the series with another challenge against Nas. At the time, Timbaland, who co-founded the Verzuz Instagram Battle series with Swizz Beatz, took to his account to ask followers, "What’s the next @verzuzonline ?!", to which Juicy replied with his proposal "Juicy j vs Nas."

The rapper's desire to get some Verzuz action has been met with a lot of support from fans and he began trending on Twitter with every proposal, but not everyone thinks he can compete against the rappers he has mentioned. That didn't stop the rapper from issuing his latest challenge. Additionally, Juicy J made sure to reveal his confidence as the best and that he will win against any opponent. When a fan voiced their doubt that Juicy could go up against Dr Dre., saying that he "isn't "even on that level lyrically," he responded with "I got plenty hits tho & my production game is sick & still relevant as of today & I won a Oscar all facts I got what it takes my guy I will battle anybody & win."

As far as Three 6 Mafia is concerned, the group are back in the musical arena. Last year it was announced the group got back together and in February 2020, Billboard confirmed they would be performing a reunion tour. The tour began in March and there are still dates set for October in North America.

As exciting as that may be, Three 6 Mafia's former member Crunchy Black is dealing with the terrible news of his own. According to reports, Crunchy Black's daughter, 26-year-old Ashley Richardson, was one of two victims found dead outside of a hotel in Southeast Memphis after a shooting. WMC5 Memphis reported that the shooting took place on Friday, August 28, around 3 pm. Juicy J paid his respects to Crunchy’s loss on Twitter, writing, “My condolences to you & your family,” with a photo of Crunchy and his family on Saturday, August 29. “RIP Ashley Richardson.”
