Josh Duggar's 12-year jail sentence slammed for downloading 'worst of the worst' child pornography
The verdict on the ongoing Josh Duggar case was finally settled after the former '19 Kids and Counting star', 34, was sentenced to twelve-and-a-half years in prison. Duggar, received 151 months in prison with a fine rounding up to $50,000. The sentence was carried out by Judge Timothy L Brooks of the Western District of Arkansas Federal Court on May 25, Wednesday. He will also remain under supervision for 20 more years after his release and is not allowed unsupervised access to children, including his own.
The former TLC star was accompanied by his family who was a part of this trial. Judge Brooks, in front of Duggar's wife Anna, said, "The images were some of the worst that this court has ever encountered." The '19 Kids and Counting' star was found guilty of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography in December 2021. Josh's lawyer sought a five-year sentence and still maintains his innocence.

Along with the 20-year-long supervision, he will be required to participate in the sex offender treatment program post his release. It is said that he will not have access to a computer or the Internet without approval. Right before his sentencing, the court vacated Josh's second conviction of possessing child porn without prejudice. Duggar's attorney Justin K Gelfand said, "We're grateful the judge dismissed Count 2 and rejected the Government's request for a 240-month sentence. We look forward to continuing the fight on appeal." The court revealed in December how the TV personality used his desktop at his car dealership to dive into the deep web and obtain movies such as 'Daisy's Destruction' which features the abuse and torture of an infant. The Internet, however, is not pleased with the sentence Duggar got.
Josh Duggar should be 'locked up', says Internet
The Internet has not taken kindly to this man's action and some are even disappointed with the final verdict. One Twitter user said, "My sincerest hope is that Josh Duggar never knows a single day of peace and that his peers in prison know exactly what he did, and treat him accordingly." Another angry user wrote, "'Innocent' folks don’t partition hard drives, use TOR and download CSA videos in the first place. Every download continues to victimize the children over and over. Josh Duggar should never have contact with children ever again. PERIOD."

Federal authorities claimed that Josh had installed a password-protected partition in the hard drive of his workplace computer to avoid its pornography-detecting software. Supporting the verdict, one user tweeted, "Lock him up I want to be 42 years old before I hear the name Josh Duggar again. For the sake of his OWN children, lock the man up!" Another user said, "Why do people call idiots on reality tv “stars?” What the hell are they doing that’s worthy of being called a “star?” Josh Duggar isn’t a star. He’s a pedophile & a rapist."

Josh Duggar isn’t a star. He’s a pedophile & a rapist.
Meanwhile, his wife Anna, along with her children, penned letters to the judge overseeing his case. Anna wrote, "My children and I rely on Joshua for financial, emotional, and physical support. Many others depend on Joshua, too." Not everyone felt the same way as Anna. One Twitter user said, "Republican darling and professional child porn collector Josh Duggar just got sentenced to 12 years in jail. I heard they don’t treat pedos very kindly in prison. Thoughts & prayers, you filthy animal." But some are not happy with the 151 months sentence. One angry user criticized the judgment and said, "Judge Brooks: You failed Josh Duggar’s CSAM victims. You failed Josh Duggar’s sisters. You failed Josh Duggar’s children, especially his youngest 3. You failed Josh Duggar’s nieces and nephews. You failed all around. How can you sleep at night with this choice? #JoshDuggar"
