Josh Duggar's smiling mugshot incensed a lot of people on social media who warned him that he won't be smiling in jail

WASHINGTON COUNTY JAIL, ARKANSAS: Josh Duggar was taken into police custody after being found guilty of possessing and receiving child sexual abuse material. In a mugshot released by the Washington County Sheriff's Office just about an hour after the news of his verdict broke on Thursday, December 9, the 33-year-old can be seen eerily smiling. Needless to say, this sparked off a wave of angry reactions on social media.

However, when Duggar left the courtroom earlier that day, he had appeared more serious. Being led away in handcuffs, Josh was allowed to stop briefly where his wife Anna Duggar sat with his dad, Jim Bob Duggar. Josh faces up to 20 years of imprisonment and up to $250,000 in fines on both counts. Josh will reportedly be spending the foreseeable future inside the Washington County jail in Arkansas.

The horrific details of Josh's child pornography stash was earlier exposed. Josh, who rose to fame from his family's TLC show called '19 Kids and Counting', was arrested on April 29. Cops had allegedly seized Josh's HP laptop from his office while raiding his Arkansas car dealership in 2019. Looking for illegal downloads, cops allegedly found child abuse material hidden deep inside a hard drive.

Jim Bob had earlier taken the stand but refused to reveal what his son had told him about being involved in a molestation case. Jim Bob repeatedly had said "I don't remember": "It's been like 18, 19 years ago. … a long time ago." "We were shocked this had happened," Jim Bob had said, "but we were thankful he came on his own and told us." "He had told me that he had touched some of the girls when they were sleeping on their breasts … they didn't wake up," Jim Bob had said, adding, "There was, yes, an incident that he told us about … after the first incident."

Josh Duggar 'won't be smiling for long?

The Internet slammed Josh Duggar for smiling in the mugshot hours after the verdict. "Josh Duggar seen SMILING in his newest mugshot.
