One of the most recent testimonies was by Dr Spiegel. Heard's legal team called the physician as an expert witness. The expert suggested that the 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' star's use of earpieces may be a sign of declining health, owing to his alcohol and substance abuse. This is when the conversation of Marlon Brando came into picture. Dr Spiegel clearly admitted that he did not know the rules of Hollywood but he was quite firm that no actor would require using an earpiece for the entire duration of the movie.

This was then followed by Depp's lawyer Wayne Dennison asked Dr Spiegel whether or not he knew that Brando used to use one. Without a second thought, Dr Spiegel's response was, "Isn’t he dead?" This rhetorical response of the expert was precisely the moment that Johnny Depp covered his face. Netizens have reacted to this with sympathy.
