NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jessica Tarlov has once again strongly confronted her co-hosts on 'The Five' as the panel took up their favorite discourse: climate change.

The trigger for the Fox News segment this time was Microsoft giant and philanthropist Bill Gates calling the global warming narrative in media merely an "exaggeration".

While the conservatives and the non-believers on the panel were quick to take it as a backing for the claim that climate change is a hoax, Tarlov called them out for blowing the story out of proportion.

'The Five' hosts on Bill Gates' climate change comment

One of the richest people on the planet, Gates has always been quite vocal about his views on climate change and its impact. He has never exactly made claims against its existence and has acknowledged that it is a concerning issue.

However, he pointed out in a recent interview at the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, that things were not as bad as they are made out to be.

“There’s a lot of climate exaggeration,” Gates said, "Climate is not the end of the planet. So the planet is going to be fine. We are not going to completely reverse development."

Gates also claimed that the numbers of the rising global temperatures won't get worse as the carbon emissions have significantly lowered.

He has consistently taken an optimist's approach to the issue of the warming planet, believing that humans are capable of solving problems and adapting to newer ways of living.

The conservative hosts on 'The Five' retained their position on the topic of climate change, saying that it has only become a forefront issue to avoid other immediate problems.

However, when it came Tarlov's turn to speak up, she shut them down by calling their interpretation of Gate's take "lies".

Tarlov has given much praise to Gates for what he has done in the world with his innovative contributions and came in to defend his take on the climate change crisis.

"It's actually the first time that one of your lies..." Tarlov started, before adding, "...What [Gates] is talking about is moderating your lifestyle. You pick something up and run all the way in the opposite direction with it."

The host then pointed out the huge donations Gates has made so far towards helping curb the negative effects of global warming.

"He's not someone who doesn't believe that man is making this worse," Tarlov added. She then urged non-believers of climate change including her co-hosts to "be moderate in the way you approach all of this."
