'I prayed for 20 years': Jennifer Lopez's mom 'always knew' her daughter and Ben Affleck would get back together
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Many were shocked to learn that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had reconciled after their breakup in 2004, but JLo's mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, had always predicted that they would "get back together." JLo appears to be the fortunate one who always got Rodriguez's blessing to be with Affleck.
Lopez, 53, talked about her upcoming Netflix movie 'The Mother' and also took some time to fawn about her husband Ben Affleck on Today Show. In a brief appearance during the interview, Rodriguez revealed that she had always hoped that JLo and her now-husband, 50-year-old Affleck, would reconcile following their public breakup in 2004. Affleck and Lopez tied the knot on July 16, 2022, over 20 years after their original engagement in 2003. They split up in 2004, went on to start families with different partners, and then got back together in 2021.

Rodriguez informed her daughter during a conversation with hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, "I knew that you would always get back together because I prayed for 20 years." Jennifer rolled her eyes and gave a mocking headshake as she instructed Kotb to "keep going" with the interview after the revelation.
Earlier in the interview, the 'Love Don't Cost a Thing' singer discussed how her perspective on love had evolved after experiencing life's ups and downs and realizing what was essential to her. "I love what I do. I have always said that, but since I had kids, that changed for me. Now, having a family in this way and being married, you start rejiggering everything," JLo said.
'Ben is her true love'
Affleck and Lopez's romance was rekindled in July 2021, and shortly after that, Affleck was seen hanging out with Rodriguez, according to People. "In the past, Jennifer's mom and Ben were very close. Guadalupe loved Ben. She was sad when they couldn't work things out years ago. She is thrilled that they are back together now," a source said.
The source added, "Jennifer is very close with her mom. It's very important to her that the person she is with gets along with her mom. Jennifer loves that Ben and Guadalupe hung out in Las Vegas. They both love gambling and had fun together at the Wynn hotel," People reports.
Rodriguez allegedly told Sunny Hostin of 'The View' that she felt that Affleck is Lopez's true love. "I've spoken to her mother, Lupe, about it. Lupe has always said that Ben is her true love," Hostin said to the women on 'The View.'.
