LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Niki Caro will direct 'The Mother', an upcoming Netflix Original action-thriller. She recently directed Disney's live-action Mulan adaptation. The script for 'The Mother' was written by Misha Green, who also served as showrunner of the HBO miniseries 'Lovecraft County', a cosmic horror thriller. 'The Mother' is made by Vertigo Entertainment, Nuyorican Productions, and Great Lakes Pictures ULC.

'The Mother' will star Jennifer Lopez as the female lead. Joseph Fiennes, Gael García Bernal, and Omari Hardwick are around the cast. The trailer was released on September 24, 2022, on YouTube by Netflix’s official channel.
