Jazmine Sullivan 'ate' Eric Church during Super Bowl LV National Anthem, fans says she should've performed solo
This year, the biggest event sees Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Super Bowl 2021, but of course, entertainment has and will always be part of the extravaganza. Undoubtedly, many artists are given the opportunity to be part of all the hype as they showcase their talents will millions watching. This year, R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan and country artist Eric Church kicked off Super Bowl 2021 with their National Anthem Performance. This performance saw both artists – Church in denim jeans and a purple jacket and Sullivan coming in hot with a white pantsuit – deliver a "unique rendition" of the Anthem.
The artists are not new to the industry and their accolades are well-known. Church's songs such as 'Springsteen' and 'Drink In My Hand' have been major hits, with the artist now getting ready to release a new album in the month of April. As for fresh-faced Sullivan, she has a whopping dozen Grammy nominations since she first released her 2008 album titled 'Fearless'. Since both artists come from different backgrounds in music – country and R&B – their collaboration during the Anthem was welcomed and special. But, it seems like during, as well as after the performance, fans thought Sullivan should have performed the Anthem herself.
