Jamie Lynn Spears changes 14-year-old daughter Maddie's name after playful social media throwdown with husband Jamie Watson
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears' sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, has changed the last name of her teenage daughter. This comes after a lighthearted Instagram altercation with her husband. Jamie Lynn, 32, and Jamie Watson got married in 2014. Jamie Lynn and her ex-boyfriend, Casey Aldridge, welcomed Maddie Briann Aldridge in 2008. The two split parenting duties for the 14-year-old.
However, Britney Spears' sister thought it was time for a change after over ten years of marriage. Accordingly, Jamie Lynn replaced the Aldridge in Maddie's name with Watson. The change was visible on Maddie's personal Instagram page, where the teen is now referred to as Maddie Watson. However, it doesn't seem like any legal documents have been submitted to date.

Jamie Watson, 40, is a native of Louisiana who met Jamie Lynn in 2010, following her separation from Casey. The star of 'Zoey 101' joked about having a divorce after a playful Instagram fight.
'Pretty wild over here'
Jaime Lynn announced on Monday, May 23, that she was divorcing her spouse because he had posted something personal about her on Instagram. In the adorable photo her husband, Watson, posted online, Maddie and Lynn, were cuddled up on the couch in the main room. The former Nickelodeon star's mouth was open, and she seemed to be comfortably dozing in a loosely fitted T-shirt while covered by a blanket. With tattered denim shorts and a pink top, Maddie likewise looked like she had just arrived home from somewhere or had been resting before leaving.
'I'm suing him for divorce'
The teen's stepfather captioned the photo of the mother-daughter pair, "Pretty wild over here." His followers quickly reacted to the post. A user wrote, "Best way to party 🎉 love it!" Another user noted, "I’m jealous! They got to peace out and I had to do another show 😂" "What a beautiful photo mother and daughter sharing a dream," said another. A user mentioned the teen daughter and said, "OMG….. But can’t believe how grown up Maddie is!" Jamie took to Instagram Stories to repost her husband's Instagram post with a solemn tone. "He posted without our consent," Jamie's caption read. "I'm suing him for divorce."
Who are Lynn and Watson's children?
Ivey Joan Watson, who is 4 years old, was born in 2018; she is the couple's only child. Maddie was born to Lynn and her ex-boyfriend, Casey, who then parted ways. But Maddie seems to have accepted Watson as her stepfather wholeheartedly. Lynn who was shooting for 'Zoey 101' was expecting at the age of 16. She then had to stop shooting the show due to her pregnancy.
